TWICE – The First Female Girl Group of JYPE
Twice (트와이스) is a South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment through the 2015 reality show Sixteen. The group consists of nine members: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. TWICE debuted on October 20th, 2015, with the extended play (EP) The Story Begins. TWICE also officially debuted in Japan on June 28th, 2017, under Warner Music Japan with the release of their first compilation album titled #Twice. Within 19 months after debut, Twice has sold over 1.2 million units of their four EPs and the special album.
TWICE debuted with the single titled “Like Ooh-Ahh.” The MV hit 100 million views on YouTube. From their second EP, the track “Cheer Up” received a lot of attention. “Cheer Up” won the Song of the Year award at the 8th Melon Music Awards. It was then followed by another Song of the Year award at the 18th Mnet Asian Music Awards. Twice also released a special album titled Twicecoaster: Lane 2, along with its lead single “Knock Knock.” It is the reissue of Twicecoaster: Lane 1. “Knock Knock” was released in the winter season. Comeback and Teaser
On January 18th, 2017, it was reported that Twice would be releasing a special album after their concert in Seoul. Through the TWICE Official SNS, JYPE announced a teaser of the comeback.

Background of Knock Knock
In early February, Twice officially announced the release of the reissue of Twicecoaster: Lane 1, titled Twicecoaster: Lane 2, on February 20th, 2017, with a newly recorded track titled “Knock Knock.” “Knock Knock” is a bubblegum pop song with rock, disco, and electronic influences.
“Knock Knock” was a commercial success in South Korea. The song ranked at number 16 on Dazed’s 20 Best K-Pop Songs of 2017. “Knock Knock” also surpassed 100 million streams in November 2017 and 2,500,000 downloads in September 2019 on the Gaon Music Chart.
