Kim Hee-chul, more familiarly called Heechul, was born in Gangwon Province, South Korea, on July 10, 1983. He is the younger of two siblings and has an older sister. Heechul was discovered at the Starlight Casting System in October 2002, when he auditioned with his friend. Initially, he was placed in a four-member project group called Four Seasons. The other members of the group were Kim Jae-joong, U-Know Yunho, and Kangin. They never debuted because Kim Jae-joong and U-Know Yunho joined the group TVXQ, which debuted in December 2003. Heechul and Kangin joined thirteen other people to become Super Junior in 2005.
