Kentaro Sakaguchi started his career in 2010 as an exclusive model for MEN’S NON-NO fashion magazine and has set a record of sorts by posing as the main cover in the magazine for seven years. When it was revealed that he will model for the manga character Daiki Mamura, one of the main characters in Hirunaka no Ryusei, he created quite a stir. But further evidence indicated that Kentaro Sakaguchi was, in fact, the “pattern” or inspiration for Mamura.
He has also appeared in runway events such as the Spring/Summer 2014 GirlsAward and the Spring/Summer 2015 GirlsAward. He was dubbed the quintessential “shio-gao,” literally salt-face, portrayed as a fair-skinned man with a good-looking face, describing the apple and collarbones of Adam, as well as eyes that transform into lines while smiling.

Kentaro Sakaguchi’s Acting Career
After his success in being a model, Kentaro Sakaguchi made his film debut in 2014 as Shun in 365 Days of Shanti, Happy Breath. In 2015, he made his TV debut for the Nippon TV drama Yokokuhan: The Pain as Ichikawa Manabu. He starred in the music video for “Yozora,” a song Miwa made in August 2015. Having appeared in the manga adaptation Heroine Shikkaku in September of that year, he gained popularity and was used in a number of commercials for L’air de Savon, Onitsuka Tiger, and niko and… He took his first leading role in the movie The 100th Love With You in 2017.
“I’m currently studying acting so I really want to be an actor. Little by little and slowly, I want to increase the number of people that know me,” Kentaro Sakaguchi said in an interview.
He also revealed that he admires most Studio Ghibli works and that Blue Spring is his favorite film.
