Bangtan Boys The Worldwide Boy Group

Bangtan Sonyeondan, or widely known as BTS, is a South Korean boy band under Big Hit Entertainment. In Japan, they are known as Bōdan Shōnendan. BTS was formed in 2010 in Seoul with 7 members. BTS debuted on June 12th, 2013, with the release of their debut single album titled 2 Cool 4 Skool, with its lead single “No More Dreams.” BTS started gaining public attention soon after their debut and very quickly became widely recognized by the public. BTS’ popularity rose rapidly and they topped every music chart with their single “Fire.” BTS’ fame is really no joke. BTS are the first Asian and first non-English speaking act to headline and sell out Wembley Stadium and break the record for the single highest-grossing engagement in Rose Bowl Stadium history.

No More Dream

“No More Dream” was released on June 12th, 2013. “No More Dream” is the fourth track and also the lead single of the album 2 Cool 4 Skool. The song was written by Pdogg, “Hitman” Bang, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Supreme Boi and produced by Pdogg. This song has a Japanese version featured in the single NO MORE DREAM -Japanese Ver.- and in the album Wake Up. “No More Dream” is about the Korean school system. It’s about how parents want their children to be perfect and have a great future, like getting a nice job and also making a lot of money and so the children are under pressure and because of stuff like that the children have no dreams.

Their first performance on Music Bank was really great. As a rookie at that time, they looked good in Black. Also, they were wearing big necklaces, masks, and also black caps as accessories. Wearing the same t-shirt with BTS written on it, made them look nice. Check out the video below!

We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2

“We Are Bulletproof” was released on June 12th, 2013. The song was written by Pdogg, “Hitman” Bang, Supreme Boi, RM, Suga, J-Hope and produced Pdogg. The song is the second track of the album 2 Cool 4 Skool. Looking through their lyrics, the song is about their specialty and personality.

During their performance on Music Bank, Jungkook opened the song with, “The name is Jung Kook, my scale is nationwide,” which was really cool. Check out their performance video below!

Boy in Luv (상남자)

“Boy in Luv” was released on February 12th, 2014. The song was written by ”hitman” Bang, Supreme Boi, Pdogg, j-hope, Suga (BTS) & RM and produced by Pdogg. One of the BTS members, J-Hope, described the track as an old-school hip-hop track. He said, “An old-school hip-hop track with a strong beat, and a rock swing to it as well. I think it’s really fun for people to listen to, and it will stick right in your ear!”

“Boy In Luv” is about a guy trying to be with a girl. Nevertheless, instead of the usual romantic and sweet sounds that love songs and confessions have, they convey these desires in a more clear and aggressive way.

Danger

“Danger” was released on August 20th, 2014. The song was written by Pdogg, Thanh Bui, “Hitman” Bang, RM, Suga, J-Hope and produced by Pdogg. The song is also available in a remix. It’s a collaboration with Vietnam’s top singer Thanh Bui under the name Danger (Mo-Blue-Mix) (Feat. Thanh). The song has a Japanese version featured in the single DANGER -Japanese Ver.- and in the album Wake Up.

In an unboxing of the Dark&Wild album, Suga said, “Our title track this time being “Danger,” the melody line had an exceptionally long period of time invested into working on it. This melody wasn’t composed by us – it was worked on by a famous overseas composer called Thanh.”

War of Hormone (호르몬전쟁)

“War of Hormones” was released on August 20th, 2014. The song is the 3rd track on BTS’ first studio album, Dark&Wild. The song was written by Pdogg, Supreme Boi, RM, Suga, J-Hope and produced by Pdogg. The song also has a Japanese version featured in the single FOR YOU.

When “War of Hormones” was released, it received a lot of comments. Many people accused the song of being misogynistic by the stated lyrics “women are the best gift” and they should “wear high heels more often.” However, BigHit responded and said that they’re responsible for it. The agency as well as all the BTS members felt very apologetic towards all the fans who may have felt uncomfortable from any lyrics or social network posts, and will take the criticisms and the points in question into consideration for future works.

I Need U

“I Need U” was released on April 29th, 2015. The song was written by Pdogg, “Hitman” Bang, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Brother Su and produced by Pdogg. The song is the second track featured in the album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1 and the second track of the CD 1 in The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever.

RM said, looking through the lyrics, the song shows the sadness of someone trying to hold onto a love that has already ended on basic conversational words.

Dope (쩔어)

“Dope” was released on April 29th, 2015. “Dope” was written by and produced by Pdogg. The song is the fifth track featured on the album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1 and sixth track of the CD 1 of The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever. The song also has a Japanese version featured in the single I NEED U -Japanese Ver.- and in the album Youth.

Their stage performances were so good. The members said that it was really fun promoting. The members also said that honestly, it’s extremely hard and tiring to do broadcast performances. “It’s hard on your body as well as mentally, but “DOPE” was really fun. Something about it was enjoyable.”

Fire (불타오르네)

“Fire” was released on May 2nd, 2016. The song was written by Pdogg, “Hitman” Bang, RM, Suga, Devine Channel and produced by Pdogg. The song is the tenth track of the CD 1 of The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever. “Fire” is the lead single of the album. The song also has a Japanese version featured in the album Youth.

Not Today

“Not Today” was released on February 13th, 2017. The song was written by Pdogg, Adora, Bang Sihyuk, Rap Monster, Supreme Boi, June and produced by Pdogg. The song is the sixteenth track of the repackage album You Never Walk Alone. The song also has a Japanese version featured in the seventh Japanese single Blood Sweat & Tears and the studio album Face Yourself.

The choreography of “Not Today” was made by International dancer Keone Madrid. The lyrics of “Not Today” encourage listeners to keep fighting and never give up.

DNA

“DNA” was released on September 18th, 2017. The song was written by Pdogg, “Hitman” Bang, Kass, Supreme Boi, Suga, RM and produced by Pdogg. “DNA” is the second and title track of the mini-album Love Yourself: Her and the fourth track of CD A of the compilation album Love Yourself: Answer. It has a remixed version featured in Love Yourself: Answer. The song also has a Japanese version featured in the eighth Japanese single MIC Drop/DNA/Crystal Snow and in the album Face Yourself.

RM once said in an interview that “DNA” is about the expression of young, passionate love. At the same time, DNA is taking BTS to new ground. Their stage performances are really cool!

Idol

“Idol” was released on August 24th, 2018. The song was written by Pdogg, Supreme Boi, “Hitman” Bang, Ali Tamposi, Roman Campolo, RM and produced by Pdogg. The song is the fifteenth track of CD A and serves as the title track of the compilation album Love Yourself: Answer. An alternative version of the song, which features Nicki Minaj, is included as a bonus track on the digital album. This song has a remix featured in BTS’ ninth Japanese single FAKE LOVE/Airplane Pt.2, and a Japanese version featured in the tenth Japanese single Lights/Boy With Luv.

Rap Monster said in an interview that “Idol” is an exciting track that kicks off a celebration. “It’s like a festival with all our ARMYs all over the world.” The song also blends modern and traditional Korean music instruments into one, somehow it’s surprising.

Boy With Luv

“Boy With Luv” was released on April 12th, 2019. The song was written by Pdogg, RM, Melanie Joy Fontana, Michel “Lindgren” Schulz, “hitman” bang, Suga, Emily Weisband, J-Hope, Ashley Frangipane and produced Pdogg. The song is featuring American singer, Halsey. “Boy With Luv” is also known as “A Poem for Small Things.” The song is the second and title track of the mini-album Map of the Soul: Persona. It is also the second track of the full-length album Map of the Soul: 7. The song also has a Japanese version featured in the tenth Japanese single Lights/Boy With Luv.
