Kep1er Released Their Fandom Name
Before officially debuting, Kep1er shared an announcement about their fandom name on Twitter. On January 3, 2022, @official_kep1er released the announcement along with the group and fandom official colors.
Kep1er called their fandom Kep1ian which means people who always support Kep1er. For the group colors, they chose purple and white. Meanwhile, purple and yellow are Kep1ian’s official colors. What a cute name and colors!
Kep1er Debut WA DA DA
After the survival show ended on October 22, 2021, they debuted a new group named Kep1er. In just 2 months, they made preparations. Finally, on January 3, 2022, Kep1er made their debut by releasing their first mini-album FIRST IMPACT.
The mini-album has 6 track songs, and “WA DA DA” became their single. On December 28, 2021, Kep1er released the MV teaser part 1. Meanwhile, for the concept photo, they had already posted it in November. This girl group is using a teen crush concept while still showing their girly sides.
Their group name is the combination of the word “Kep” which means “to catch a dream” and the number one (1). Overall, the group name means the nine girls joined together into one group to be the best.
Although they had to re-schedule their debut date (originally set for December 14, 2021), the public still warmly welcomed their appearance. The “WA DA DA” MV got over 31 million views on YouTube a week after being released. Here is the video!
Kep1er Breaks the Record for Highest 1st-Day Sales of a Girl Band
Kep1er is a newcomer group that successfully set a new record with their mini-album FIRST IMPACT. According to Hanteo Chart, their debut album sold over 200,000 copies within a week of its release. Kep1er also ranked #1 with the most sales of their debut album in the first week of sales. Kep1er also beat out IVE and STAYC’s debut album sales records!
