CLASS:y Pre Debut
We all know, CLASS:y is a group which formed after a survival variety show that made by MBC. Before officially debut as an “idol group”, every members were joined the competition that aired on November 28 to February 27, 2021. This seven members are entered the top 7 and had beaten 76 other contestant, at the end this 7 members managed to be winners and signed contract for 7 years with M25 and Universal Music Japan.
This variety show is special from other program, if we remember that in every group that formed by a variety show program, they would be did promotion and signed contract only for 2 years. Meanwhile, CLASS:y’s exclusive contract like K-pop group idol in general. To remember their performance during their pre debut days in My Teenage Girl program, here they are!
CLASS:y Debut
My Teenage Girl survival program ended on February 27, 2022, they revealed the final line-up and the 7 contestants successfully debut as CLASS:y. This first girl group of the survival show debuted on May 5, 2022, with their first mini-album Class Is Over with “Shut Down” as their main track.
Previously, this group opened their official social media on March 3, 2022, and then ranging from April 20 to 27, 2022, they released concept photos either from the group or even each member. CLASS:y is a group that consists of 2001-2008 members and the concept that they had is dreamy-girly as well as looks teenager.
On May 2, finally, they uploaded a teaser music video before they released on May 5 along with the album teaser. This MV already got over 1.9 Million viewers on YouTube and they made the hot debut stage through the weekly music program, M! Countdown on May 6, 2022. However, the title is “comeback”, not hot debut stage, because, on pre-debut days, they had released a pre-debut single titled “Surprise” in March 2022.
