MONSTA X’s Wonho announced he was leaving the boy group that had made his name popular on October 31st, 2019. Dispatch revealed a surprising thing about Jung Da-eun and Wonho who had smoked marijuana together in 2013 on January 11th, 2020.
According to Jung Da-eun, his former roommate and Wonho offered him illegal marijuana in 2013 and the two friends smoked drugs together. Jung Da-eun and Wonho once lived together as friends in 2012.
Jung Da-eun revealed that it happened in October 2013. She and Wonho met at a café where Wonho took a package from his pocket and offered it to Jung Da-eun. They then went to Jung Da-eun’s house and smoked a substance that the transgender girl claimed was marijuana.
Wonho Pre-debut Scandal Smoking and Drinking
Even as a rookie, Wonho was already involved in a scandal during his pre-debut era. Netters managed to find a pre-debut photo when Wonho was still named Shin Ho-seok and attended the “Ulzzang Shidae” program.

Jung Da-eun posted a photo of her watching Wonho on TV and Han Seo-hee commented on his post. “Give Da-eun 30 million won,” wrote the girl who is also known as an informant for the B.I drug case, a former iKON member.
He also revealed a text with his lawyer regarding Wonho’s debt from the past that hasn’t been repaid yet.
In response, Starship Entertainment as the agency released an official statement on October 30th, 2019, saying that these rumors are not true and they are considering the possibility of taking legal action.

Wonho then talked about being announced to leave Monsta X in October 2019 and said:
According to Wonho, his life consists of working, exercising, and connecting with fans. Even on an overseas tour, he will hold a live broadcast with fans that will last three to four hours.
He said, “It was the first time I felt such warm emotions. So I didn’t want to disappoint them. I just wanted to do things that our fans like. I want to return their love. But…”
“There are many things I promised them. That I will always be by their side. Sorry I have to leave like this. I only live with them in my mind. In the past, I lived as Lee Ho-seok and in the present, I live as Wonho.”
“Is Wonho really irresponsible for what Lee Ho-seok has done? I have to take that responsibility. I hurt people with my past. I want to minimize the pain.” Wonho explained that he felt like leaving the group was the least painful option for fans.
Wonho explained that he would not leave his house for a while in case he caused further damage. He said, “I still can’t forget our fans. I’m full of regrets. Just feel like I should have done better for them. I just wanted to say that I’m sorry, that’s why I did this interview.”
