Ahn So Hee (안소희), best known mononymously as Sohee (소희), is a South Korean singer and celebrity under JYP Entertainment, and a part of Wonder Girls. In 2013, JYP Entertainment declared that Sohee would be departing the Wonder Girls to focus on acting. So Hee is also an accomplished model, and has shown great interest in both modeling and acting outside of Wonder Girls.
She’s been showcased in several fashion magazines, including Numero, Vogue, Elle Girl, COSMOPOLITAN, CeCi, Dazed & Confused, Oh Boy! , Marie Claire and W. In 2011, So Hee was picked as one of the faces of Lancome’s newest cosmetic line,’Visionnaire’. In 2007, following two decades of training, she was disclosed as the third part of Wonder Girls, a girl group handled by JYP Entertainment. The group debuted with the single Irony, including Sohee as a dancer and vocalist from the group.
The team quickly rose to stardom with their strikes Inform Me, So Hot and Nobody, within a couple of decades of the introduction. Sohee herself got the title of the country’s Little Sister’. Specifically, she is famous for her distinctive catchphrase”Omona” from the song Tell Me, that became a national trend.
In an official JYP Entertainment statement, it was disclosed that Sohee would not renew her contract with the firm, thus ending her six-year membership of Wonder Girls. Her contract with the company died on December 21, 2013.
After this, So-Hee focused on her actress profession. In 2016, Sohee starred in South Korea’s first zombie movie, Train to Busan, playing with a high school student and a loyal supporter of the baseball team.
The film premiered in the Midnight Screenings section in the 2016 Cannes Film Festival on May 13, 2016, and afterward surpassed 11 million tickets sold. Regardless of the movie’s success, Sohee received criticism for her acting.
Later that year, she included tvN’s Korean movie of the American series, Entourage, playing the love interest of Seo Kang-joon’s personality.
