Born in Seoul on April 17, 1982, this South Korean actor, singer, and model began his career in 2005, with his first major role in the historical drama “The King and the Clown”. He played Gong Gil, a effeminate clown during the Joseon Dynasty. Joon Gi then left to complete his military service and, that August, he co-starred with fellow actor Ju Ji Hoon in a military musical called Voyage of Life for the 60th anniversary of the Korean War.
In 2012, Lee Joon Gi took on his first project after coming back from enlistment on MBC’s period horror romance drama Arang and the Magistrate, with Shim Min A. But it wasn’t until he played in the historical drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo that he really started to become famous. The drama was a Korean remake of a Chinese television series, Scarlet Heart, and he played Wang So on the drama.
He’s also made a Hollywood debut by appearing in the sixth and final installment of Resident Evil series, called “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”, which was released worldwide in January, 2017.

A talented actress with a baby face, Seo Yeji was born on April 6, 1990. She studied at Young Shin High School for her early education, before heading to university in Spain to study journalism. Yeji’s intention was to become a TV news presenter. She ended up becoming an actress instead. after being persuaded by the CEO of her company, Chan Entertainment.
She made her first appearance in an SK Telcom commercial, and then began her debut as an actress by playing on a sitcom called Potato Star 2013QR3, in 2013. Yeji also played on many popular dramas like Moorim School: The Saga of Brave, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, Save Me, and Lawless Lawyer with Lee Joon Gi.

About the Drama Lawless Lawyers
A legal thriller television series, Lawless Lawyer (무법 변호사) was written by Yoon Hyun Hoo and directed by Kim Jin Min, with some popular stars such as Lee Joon Gi, Seo Ye Ji, Lee Hye Young and Choi Min Soo. The series was set in the fictional city of Ki Sung, which was described as being lawless and corrupt.
The drama premiered on tvN, and ran from May 12 until July 1, 2018, with total 16 episodes. The show aired every Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m. Lawless Lawyers was a commercial hit and became one of the highest-rated Korean dramas in cable televisions history.
Synopsis
When Bong Sang Pil (played by Lee Joon Gi) was little, he lived with his mother in Gi Sung. His mother was worked as a lawyer and took some case that Judge Cha Moon Sook (played by Lee Hye Young) was involved with. Judge Cha Moon Sook was known to be the most respected person in the city.
One night, Bong Sang Pil witnessed his mother being killed by Judge Moon Sook’s subordinate (played by Choi Min Soo). Bong Sang Pil left Gi Sung and went to live with his gang boss uncle, named Choi Dae Woong (played by Ahn Nae Sang). From there he decided to become a lawyer to get revenge on those who responsible for his mother’s death.
18 years later, Bong Sang Pil finally worked as a lawyer. He saw a piece on the news about a detective who was arrested for killing the mayor of Gi Sung. It was known that the detective held the key to the murder of Bong Sang Pil’s mother. Bong Sang Pil returned to Gi Sung for the first time in 18 years, and opened a law office there.
Meanwhile, the detective, Ha Jae Yi (played by Seo Ye Ji), was a lawyer with integrity. She beat up a judge on the court, and because of that her law licenses was suspended. Ha Jae Yi then returned to her home in Gi Sung. Once she was there, Bong Sang Pil approached her and got Ha Jae Yi to work in his office. He also held a secret related to the death of Ha Jae Yi’s mother. Together, they used the law to fight against Judge Moon Sook and his associates, and step by step, they started to fall in love.
Relationship and Their Roles on the Drama
The Relationship between Lee Joon Gi and Seo Ye Ji on Lawless Lawyer becomes closer and closer in each episode. It could be seen by how their characters interacted and and because more skinship appeared.
Lee Joon Gi as Bong Sang Pil
He was a former gangster that became a lawyer who takes advantages of loopholes in the law, and boasts an excellent win rate. He was born in Gi Sung, but was raised by his uncle Choi Dae Woong in Seoul after his mother was killed. As a member of his uncle gang, he became an excellent fighter. Before becoming a lawyer, he spent some time in prison for the gang activity.
According to Lee Joon Gi, his character lived on a life of hardships. When he was a lawyer, Bong Sang Pil wasn’t afraid to use his fists and his old gangs connections when he needed to for some cases. He is defined by the desire to gain justice for his mother and loyalty towards Ha Jae Yi. Bong Sang Pil trust her completely, even when his life, freedom, and his work are on the line.
