All You Need to Know About Youngest Member of Red Velvet
Kim Ye-rim, better known as Yeri is a South Korean singer that belongs to a Korean girl group named Red Velvet. She was born in Seoul on March 5, 1999. Before debuting as a member of Red Velvet, she spent her school life at Hanlim Multi Art School and graduated in 2018.
In Red Velvet, Yeri is the youngest among the other members. She joined SM Entertainment as a trainee in 2011 and became part of SM Rookies. Even though she is still very young, she has stolen a lot of attention since her pre-debut life.
Putting Yeri into one of Red Velvet members seems to be too good to be true. Because of her “role” as a maknae, Red Velvet looks more lovely because she has such a lovable character.

Then, Wendy called Yeri “a free soul”, while Seulgi reputed that Yeri had the way she wanted. Last, Irene only answered that Yeri was her sister.
It seems that Irene loves Yeri a lot after the fun fact between them has been revealed. In ‘Weekly Idol’, Irene also said that she was the one who often ironed Yeri’s school uniform during her school years. Even, Red Velvet’s fans often call them a mother and daughter.

FYI, when she joined the SM audition, she sang some songs from JYP Entertainment even though there were rumors that singing a song from another agency was a big no. But surprisingly, she passed the audition until she became a part of SM Rookies.

Yeri’s Debut in 2015
Literally, Red Velvet had their debut in 2014 with a song titled Happiness and performed with only 4 members, Joy, Irene, Wendy, and Seulgi. But, in 2015 they had a “comeback” with a song titled Ice Cream Cake and returned with Yeri as the fifth member. When SM announced that Red Velvet would be returning with a new member, fans were shocked and curious about Yeri.
After the promotion of Ice Cream Cake came to an end, Yeri became a host of MBC’s music program Show! Music Core, along with Shinee’s Minho and VIXX’s N from May 9, 2015, to November 14, 2015.
