E’Dawn and HyunA’s Dating Scandal
CUBE Entertainment formed the Triple H project, where Hyuna, E’Dawn, and Hui joined the project. In August 2018, Hyuna and E’Dawn were reported being seen on a date. Of course, this shocked their fans, CUBE Entertainment stated that their relationship was only limited to sunbae-hoobae, but Hyuna and E’Dawn clarified that they were actually dating. Many were surprised about this scandal because CUBE Entertainment and Hyuna/E’Dawn gave different statements.
As yet, the matter of HyunA and E’Dawn’s expulsion from CUBE Entertainment is undecided. A board of directors was announced to meet a week after the incident, and it appeared that the decision was still uncertain, but it was leaning towards the side of the company’s first promise of removing artists from CUBE Entertainment. The initial decision was pushed by Pentagon’s fans, who felt betrayed by the idol’s actions.
Apparently, Hyuna and E’Dawn had been dating since 2016 but they kept it a secret from the public. CUBE Entertainment placed the reason for the company’s action on the fact that they could not trust Hyuna and E’Dawn. Then, Hyuna gave clarification through her Instagram account and she said, “I really wanted to be honest. For the fans who always support me and watch over me, I want to work hard on stage with a happy heart, with nothing to hide – as I always have.”
Also, E’Dawn said, “We know that we will constantly be tagged onto each other’s names from now on, but still, we thought that it would be hard to look straight into the eyes of our fans once we got on stage. That’s why we want to be honest at least to our fans who love and watch over us, and then go in front of them with our confidence and joy on stage.”
HyunA said, their personal relationship grew along with their professional collaboration, “Our relationship continued as we made music together. We were very careful, even though he wasn’t in the credits, there were many portions in my solo album where E’Dawn helped me with the details.”
After clarifying their relationship, HyunA and E’Dawn agreed to leave CUBE Entertainment. Reporting from Soompi, a source from the music industry said, “Hyuna was hurt after finding out a news report about CUBE Entertainment removing her without any discussion. Cube’s board members have different opinions, but since it was difficult to fix the conflict with HyunA, the atmosphere feels like they are concluding the contract. Yuto and CLC’s Ye Eun’s Dating Scandal
Second, Pentagon member Yuto was reportedly dating a member of the girl group CLC, Ye Eun. According to netizens, the uploader of the photo above also wrote, “Jang Ye-eun and Yuto. They were just dating all out in the open in Seongsu-dong.” Other sources claim that the two are together with another CLC member, who is partially hidden by the electricity pole. Reporting from Allkpop, the dating rumors between Yuto and Ye Eun began several hours after this photo surfaced online. The two were seen allegedly shopping, with a Cube manager in between them.
Of course, this surprised the public. How can CUBE Entertainment have artists with dating scandals in one group? Cube Entertainment denied they were dating, stating, “As the two are rappers, they have been close friends and colleagues since their debut. They’re supporting each other as friends, as Cube Entertainment labelmates, since their trainees days.” The agency concluded, “We hope there are no more misunderstandings due to this issue. We sincerely apologize for causing concern to all the fans who love CUBE Entertainment artists.”
