Kim Na-young’s Appear on Mnet Produce 101
Kim Na-young was originally a trainee from Jellyfish Entertainment for 2 years before decided to join with Sejeong and Mina to Produce 101: Season 1. She used to train in Born Star Training Academy and Dream Vocal. On the first initial audition, she teamed up with Sejeong and Mina while performed to Something New by Niki Yanofsky.
After the evaluation, Kim Na-young made into Class A and become one of the contestant who got into the highest rank for Episode 1-5. On the Group Battle Performance in Episode 4, Kim Na-young become the Leader and Center as she teamed up with Bang Joon-hee, Oh Hana-reum, Yun Yu-dam and Yoon Seo-hyeung while they performed to Break It by KARA and received 210 votes.

On Position Evaluation Performances in Episode 7, Kim Na-young become the leader and teamed up with Kim Se-jeong, Yun Chae-kyoung and Oh Seo-jung while performed to Yanghwa Bridge by Zion T. Kim Na-young received 104 votes and ranked 17 in vocal.

On Concept Evaluation Performances in Episode 10, Kim Na-young teamed up with Hwang In-sun, Kang Mina, Kang Yae-bin, Zhou Jieqiong, Seong Hye-min and Lee Soo-min while they performed to 24 Hours by DJ KOO & MAXIMITE. The group received 159 votes for this performance.

Kim Na-young has made into 22 top final members and performed to the nerve-wrecking episode which made everyone figure out whose member that will make her debut as a member of I.O.I. In this final performance, Kim Na-young become a member of White Team that consist with Jeon Somi, Kim Se-jeong, Kim Chung-ha, Zhou Jieqiong, Kang Sira, Choi Yoo-jung, Han Hye-ri, Kim So-hye, Jeon So-yeong and Lim Nayoung.

Although she didn’t make it into the top 11 finalists, Kim Na-young ranked on the 14th and received 133.247 at the final episode.
Kim Na-young’s Debut As GUGUDAN
As reported from Allkpop on June 9, 2016, Kim Na-young would be joining a new girlgroup that has been prepared from their company, Jellyfish Entertainment, alongside with her former team members in Produce 101: Season 1, Kim Se-jeong and Kang Mina. The news of her confirmation while joined the new girlgroup gained so much attention from her fans and they really anticipated the group’s debut really soon.
Kim Na-young debuted as a member of Gugudan (구구단) or stylized as gx9 on June 28, 2016 under Jellyfish Entertainment along with other 8 members. In January 2016, Kim Na-young, Kim Sejeong and Kang Mina were the first members who introduced as the trainees of Jellyfish Entertainment from Produce 101: Season 1 who will made their debut soon.
After a various reports, Kim Na-young was revealed to made her debut in a girlgroup consist with 9 members. Jellyfish Entertainment announced the group name on June 17, 2016 and their concept debut would have a mermaid concept with the mini-album titled Act. 1 The Little Mermaid with Wonderland as their debut single.

On February 27, 2017, Gugudan made their comeback with 2nd mini-abum titled Act. 2 Narcissus with a comeback song, A Girl Like Me (나 같은 애).
Their 2nd mini-album was a success as it ranked on the 3rd place on the Gaon Album Chart. FYI, another fun fact that we could have from this album is one of the songs was also made by VIXX’s Ravi. A Girl Like Me also ranked at the 38th place on 38 on the Gaon Digital Chart on the chart issue dated February 26 – March 4, 201 and sold by 49.829 downloaded.
On November 8, 2017, Gugudan made another comeback by releasing a single album titled Act. 3 Chococo Factory alongside with their comeback song titled Chococo.
On February 1, 2018 Gugudan made their comeback while released their 2nd single album titled Act. 4 Cait Sith with the lead single The Boots.
During this era, this is the last promotion with 9 members then the youngest member, Hyeyeon, went on a temporary hiatus due to health issues. This album has 4 songs, such as The Boots, The Boots (Inst.), Silly, and Lovesick. In this comeback, Gugudan has a dark concept which is 180° different from the group’s concept back when they debut.
On November 6, 2018, Gugudan held another comeback with releasing the 3rd EP, Act. 5 New Action, contained with 6 tracks alongside with their comeback song titled Not That Type. This comeback is a unique one since the girls are having swag and funky concept that was different from their previous comeback.
Gugudan received many compliments by their fans as they have tried different concept for each comeback and matched them very well.
