Billlie Moon Sua Pre Debut Future 2NE1, Unpretty Rapstar, Etc.

During her pre-debut era, Moon Sua appeared in the YG Entertainment video titled “Future 2NE1” in 2012 and participated in Mnet’s Unpretty Rapstar 2 as a trainee at the time under YG Entertainment.

There were rumors that she moved to Fantagio after breaking up with YG in 2016, but it was confirmed that she was still with YG Entertainment by appearing in the Netflix sitcom YG Electronics in October 2018. In March 2019, YG officials mentioned through social media that Moon Sua was still signed in the same agency.

However, in May of the same year, it became clear that she had left YG Entertainment as all Future 2NE1 members, including Moon Sua, started having their own Instagram accounts.

In November 2019, her name appeared on her Mystic trainee schedule. She also appeared in a busking that was held on November 20th, 2019, a day after the schedule was revealed. Someone also said that she worked part-time at a tea shop.

Billlie Moon Sua Appearance in Mnet Unpretty Rapstar 2

The rap competition program broadcast on Mnet, Unpretty Rapstar 2 is a hot topic of conversation among netizens, especially when the contestants that come from rappers to K-Pop idols are getting ‘brave’ to express their rap lyrics.

A diss battle, or the event of sarcasm through rap lyrics, is also a highlight in this program. One of the contestants who is often being targeted is Moon Sua, the only YG Entertainment trainee participating in this program.

In the last few episodes, the youngest contestant of Unpretty Rapstar 2 was also the target of satire by other contestants because of the YG label attached to her. Some contestants think that YG Entertainment made it easy for her to enter Unpretty Rapstar 2.

This, of course, immediately reminds us of Show Me The Money contestants who once satirized YG Entertainment artists, such as WINNER’s Mino, and iKON’s Bobby and B.I. However, unlike Mino, Bobby, and B.I, YG Entertainment apparently made a different and quite surprising statement regarding Moon Sua’s status as a trainee at the agency.

In their statement, YG Entertainment actually stated that although Sua is now a trainee, they cannot confirm whether the 15-year-old trainee will actually debut. “Moon Sua won’t be debuting soon, and she can’t be compared to B.I, Bobby, or Mino who appeared in Show Me the Money,” YG Entertainment representative said.

“Moon Sua is just a trainee who may or may not debut as a YG artist just because of how hard she worked. Just because she is now a trainee at YG, doesn’t mean we will support her. Sua herself is well aware of this condition, that’s why she worked so hard in Unpretty Rapstar 2,” they continued.

YG Entertainment’s statement seemed to tell that being successful as a trainee does not mean that the trainee will debut as a YG Entertainment artist. Moon Sua previously revealed at the beginning of the Unpretty Rapstar 2 program that she had been a trainee at YG Entertainment for more than 5 years, and revealed the possibility that she was the longest-running trainee at the agency.

However, the confirmation given did not necessarily satisfy the netters. They were actually disappointed to hear the news because they thought that Sua had been a trainee for a long time and deemed it appropriate to debut as a member of the new YG girl group.

“Are you kidding me? Sua feels like she’s been there for 6 years and you’re telling her she still needs time?” netters said. “What? I’ve been waiting for it,” another disappointment stated through a comment. “The majority are new faces. Alright YG, we’re done,” said another netter.

Even though YG Entertainment did not give Moon Sua the opportunity to debut immediately after her participation in Unpretty Rapstar 2, she managed to prove that her talent could make her the youngest contestant to get ranked 3rd in the final episode.
