On November 5th, 2019, Blackpink’s Lisa uploaded her first ever video on her personal YouTube Channel. The video is titled “Lili’s Film #1 – Jisoo in Japan” and it features her bandmate Jisoo. In the video, Lisa and Jisoo are shopping, sightseeing, and snacking in Japan. The BLACKPINK’s song “See U Later” is playing as the background music of the video.
Although Blackpink’s Lisa has only posted some videos, all of her videos are well-edited and fans can see her experiences as she travels around the world with her other bandmates. Her fans feel really excited and blessed to watch her videos because the way she films her videos makes blinks see the world just as she does. G.C.F is a video series that is fully produced and edited by Jungkook himself. He uploaded this video to the group’s YouTube account, BANGTANTV. This video series was first introduced on November 8th, 2017, through a video titled “G.C.F in Tokyo” featuring his bandmate Jimin. “There For You” by Martin Garrix and Troye Sivan was playing as the background music.
Through the video, Jungkook shared daily activities with BTS member Jimin while in Tokyo, Japan. ARMY can see how the two men who were both from Busan, South Korea, spent time in shopping locations and also amusement parks in Tokyo. Not only the video with Jimin, but Jungkook also uploaded other G.C.F videos in the series, in Osaka, United States, Saipan, Newark, Helsinki, and the 2018 MAMA Practice. As time went by, the videos made by Jungkook did not only feature Jimin, but also other BTS members.
In the videos, Jungkook shows his love for the six BTS members who are like family and brothers to him. Even though he did not openly state this, but the affection can be seen from the way he recorded the figures of BTS members in his G.C.F videos.

Mamamoo Solar
Solar of Mamamoo is the next in the long list of idols who turned to be YouTubers and share their personal videos. Her channel is called Solarsido and she first introduced her YouTube channel on February 16th, 2019, with her cute introduction video as her trademark.
In her introduction video, Solar managed to convince everyone to draw a circle with two fingers while exclaiming Solarsido. She asked all Mamamoo members to do their introduction videos. Her bandmates Moonbyul and Hwasa did it coolly. While Wheein enthusiastically recited Solarsido before collapsing because she couldn’t help laughing. Solar was the last one to do the Solarsido and she did it in the cutest way ever.
The name of her channel, Solarsido, is a play on words of the musical notes sol, la si, and do, as well as the combination of her name and “to attempt” in Korean. As the names’ meaning “to attempt,” Solar takes on various challenges in her videos.
On April 1st, 2019, Solar uploaded a video titled “I was bored so I cut my hair.” 11 months since the video first premiered, it has almost 4 million views. In the video, Solar challenged herself to cut her hair by herself.
Along with the video, Solar wrote “Hello solarsido, Solar her^^ woooo~~ Dragon King! It’s April 1st ^ ‘^ I wanted to do something special for today lol. Was it a success?? I do know the hair was cut strangely though…”
On May 2nd, 2019, Solar shared her pole dance video. She has been practicing pole dancing for months. So that she shared her video doing double pole dance with her instructor, and with her song “Hello” as the background music. Through the video, fans can see her flawless pole dance skills with hard level techniques.
Girl’s Day Hyeri
Girl’s Day’s Hyeri has also launched her own YouTube channel named 혜리. On July 15th, 2019, the idol uploaded a teaser for “Oh! Hyeri Day” to launch her personal YouTube channel. Through the video, Hyeri gave viewers a glimpse of life as a woman in her 20s that’s different from her appearance on the stage, variety shows, and dramas.
The reality show shows Hyeri’s daily life and her candid thoughts and moments as she rides a bike at the park, goes grocery shopping with her mom, drives, and eats delicious food with her friends.
The first two episodes of “Oh! Hyeri Day” were shared on July 22nd, 2019, and a new episode was aired every week for a total of six episodes. In episode 3 of the “Oh! Hyeri Day” series, Hyeri showed her flying yoga practice. In the clip, Hyeri tries hard to do flying yoga and she said, “What’s important of getting pretty? I am dying,” as she was struggling to continue her practice.
Some of the videos from her YouTube channel show Hyeri spending time with her family members. For one, Hyeri shopping with her mom to cook dinner. It is adorable to see the mother-daughter moments in an ordinary setting. Watching her mom buy so many groceries, Hyeri asks her if she did so just because she’s there. Her Mom responded, “Yes,” and Hyeri made funny faces.

CLC Sorn
CLC’s Sorn is another K-Pop idol-turned-YouTuber. She launched her own YouTube channel named PRODUSORN. As everybody knows, Sorn has been uploading her Produsorn Vlogs through the Cube Official YouTube Channel for a while. But now, she has her own channel and continues to upload her Produsorn Vlogs.
Sorn first published her own official YouTube channel on January 2nd, 2019. Along with the video, she wrote, “Hello guys! Finally the day you have been waiting for! I’m finally opening my own channel. From now all of you can watch my videos here so don’t forget to subscribe, like, comment, and share all my stuff.”
CLC’s Sorn runs a very interesting channel in which she shares snippets of her life and daily activities with her fans and viewers.

EXO Baekhyun
EXO’s Baekhyun doesn’t want to miss the trend either. Like other idols do nowadays, Baekhyun also opened up his own YouTube channel named 백현 Baekhyun.
Baekhyun first introduced his YouTube channel on May 16th, 2019, by uploading his first Vlog. Only a few days after he launched his YouTube channel, he already hit 1 million subscribers and his subscriber count is still rising rapidly and now he has more than 2 million subscribers.
In his first video’s description, he wrote, “Such an indoor guy, I finally went out to meet friends and had a coffee time. This is my first video shoot for VLOG, so it is far from perfect… But! I’ll be back to show you my upgraded skills. Please look forward to my varieties and activities of Baekhyun. I need your love!”
On May 28th, 2019, Baekhyun uploaded another vlog that showed his daily activities in Japan. He also wrote in the description, “I think… I’m… getting better at shooting… Am I right…? hahaha Go… go, go!!!^^”
In his video, Baekhyun showed his fans what is in his carrier. He then took out his Laptop, speaker, and set up the PC with the song “Flower” by Chen as background music.
On October 13th, 2019, Baekhyun shared his vlogs when he was in Dubai shooting for the SuperM music video. He started the video when he was on the plane flying to Dubai. He also had dinner across the fountain show and he did a mukbang, or eating show.
VIXX N
VIXX’s N is another K-Pop idol who turned to be a YouTuber. VIXX’s N finally opened up his personal YouTube channel.
On December 24th, 2018, N shared a teaser about his new YouTube channel named achahakyeon. He posted his first video and shared it with his fans on Christmas day, December 24th, 2018.
In his first Today’s Record video’s description, N wrote, “Note: today the vlog starts. Please be sure to come back tomorrow at 6:30 pm KST :)”
On December 25th, 2018, N shared his second video. In the video titled “Today’s Record_20181225,” N shares his day where he took a train ride and explored Suncheon. On the train, he writes lyrics, listens to music, and enjoys a cup of coffee. When he arrives at Suncheon Station, he visits the Suncheonman Wetlands, sends his family photos, eats a meal and dessert, and gets back on the train.
iKON Yunhyeong
One of the members of boy band iKON, Yunhyeong, released a personal YouTube account named “Song Chelin Guide” on April 30th, 2019. Yunhyeong first introduced his YouTube account through his official Instagram @sssong_yh.
The name Song Chelin Guide is a parody of Micheline Guides. Michelin Guides are a series of guide books published by the French tire company Michelin for more than a century. The term normally refers to the annually published Michelin Red Guide, the oldest European hotel and restaurant reference guide.
Yunheyong revealed that his personal YouTube account launched the first content in the form of a blogger video (vlog). In his first vlog, Yunhyeong showed his trip to America when he was a guest at the SXSW (South by Southwest) festival. The video was 8 minutes and 12 seconds long, featuring iKON members as a guest star in the music festival section with other international musicians. It began with Yunhyeong’s introduction and his adventures before boarding his flight, including shopping and eating at Incheon International Airport. He also continued to film in the plane, where he enjoyed in-flight meals and a nap.
After being greeted by fans at the airport, Yunhyeong settled down at the hotel with a face mask and read handwritten letters from fans. The next day, he explored Austin, performed with his members on stage, and returned to his room to share his thoughts about the SXSW.
Yunhyeong explained that beside vlogs, he also uploads various contents to the channel in which fans can see more of his daily life, such as ASMR, and cooking.
Apink Bomi
Apink’s Bomi also became a YouTuber. Bomi opened up her own YouTube channel named 뽐뽐뽐, or can be read as Bbom-Bbom-Bbom.
On April 19th, 2018, Bomi posted a teaser video titled “Hello, This is Bbom-Bbom-Bbom Bbomi” on her personal YouTube channel. She also revealed her decision to open her own channel and said, “I really enjoy watching YouTube in my daily life and I wanted to try it, and I also wanted to have fun communicating with fans while resting.”
The channel Bbom-Bbom-Bbom holds the concept ‘of Bomi, by Bomi, for Bomi.’ Various types of content, such as Bomi’s daily life, travel videos, covers, and reviews of different products will be posted on her YouTube channel.
As seen in one of her videos, Bomi shared her daily pink make up to her viewers. She started the video with her bare face before she showed her make up routine step by step.
Through her YouTube channel, Bomi does amazing mukbangs or ‘eating shows’ where she talks to fans while eating delicious food on camera. Fans are always happy to see her enjoying her food and simply eating well.
VIXX Ken
Another member of the boy group VIXX, Ken, also joined the trend and opened his YouTube channel. VIXX’s Ken would be giving fans a look into his everyday life via his YouTube channel. The idol posted his first video on August 18th, 2019, titled “8th-year idol VIXX’s Ken’s first time on his own! first time reveal of room tour! [I Ken Do It]” on his YouTube channel under his real name Lee Jae-hwan “재환JaeHwan”.
In the video, Ken looked really shy and excited as he gave viewers a room tour of his home including his large collection of figurines and shoes, game room, bedroom, closet, living room, kitchen, and more. He looked so happy as he showed off his home and possessions to viewers for the first time.
Ken wrote in the description box, “Hello everyone. I moved out for the first time! It’s my first time filming and being filmed so it’s awkward and nerve-wracking. I’ll be thankful if you watch it favorably even if I’m lacking a lot. I’ll upload a lot of diverse, fun content from here on out so please look forward to it!”

Day6 Jae
Day6’s Jae has been a YouTuber since September 2017. DAY6 fans couldn’t be happier when Jae finally opened up his own YouTube channel under the clever name JaeSix as he is a member of the band Day6.
Jae first uploaded a video on his YouTube channel on September 6th, 2017, with the video titled “A Jae In The Life of Day Vlog #1.” International fans who struggle to understand Korean, couldn’t be happier to watch his Vlog as he speaks English in his video.
