Meet The Romantic Couple Choi Jin-Young and Lee Hyun-Ji in ‘We Got Married’
Choi Jin Young was a Korean actor and a singer. He was the younger brother of popular actress Choi Jin Sil. His sister popularity apparently gave him slight advantageous during his early career due to their resemblance. He stood by himself and gave proof that he had a talent as both a singer and an actor. He gained popularity through popular TV show Our Paradise. After conducting military service, he returned as rock ballad singer using the stage name SKY and launched a successful first album Final Fantasy.
Lee Hyun Ji was a former member of electronic group Banana Girl. She was later debuted as soloist in 2008 with the album Kiss Me Kiss Me.
Choi Jin Young and Lee Hyun Ji couple appeared as additional couple during MBC’s We Got Married Thanksgiving Special in September 14th, 2008. Choi Jin-young and Lee Hyun-ji’s Romantic Moments in ‘We Got Married’
Choi Jin Young and Lee Hyun Ji had an age difference of over 16 years. Other couples in We Got Married had much less age difference than Choi and Lee couple, which was 9 years. It seemed that the concept for Choi and Lee couple was to see how they interact with each other and how they overcome the age difference.
Choi Jin Young tried very hard to accomodate Lee Hyun Ji’s loose and childish character. They almost always fought on everything which makes their interaction cute and fun to watch, especially the first meeting scene and opening piggy bank scene.
First Meeting
Choi Jin Young and Lee Hyun Ji met for the first time in front of Choi Jin Young‘s house. At the time he was relaxing and watching baseball in his living room. He waited anxiously for his wife’s to be. Meanwhile, Lee Hyun Ji was pictured holding a house map and looking for Choi Jin Young’s house. Lee Hyun Ji had a youthful look and wore short pants and colorful jacket.
They met after Choi Jin Young opened his front door. Before We Got Married’s program, they have never met before and have never seen each other in TV, internet or newspaper. It was an awkward first meeting and upon seeing each partner’s face and outfit, it became even more awkward.
Choi Jin Young welcomed her inside and toured around his house. In the living room, Choi Jin young asked her age which she answered 22 years old. He was shocked and disbelieved about why he was partnered with “a child”. Lee Hyun Ji asked his age, which he answered 39 years old. She freezed and could not believe that their age difference was close to 17 years old. But she immediately praised him about his looks. She said that he has a much younger look for a man of his age. She started to tease him, always calling him a forty years old man. He was slightly irritated by her calling but he always responded with a cute anger.
Wedding
Choi Jin Young and Lee Hyun Ji appeared as candidate for next generation couple in We Got Married Thanksgiving Special. Other new couples were Marco Son Dambi couple and Hwanhee Park Hwayobi couple. The original couples were shooting their farewell scene and they were going to be replaced with new couples.
