Jang Hyun-seung
The idol named Jang Hyun-seung must be familiar among K-Pop fans since he already got his popularity as one of the legendary entertainers in the music industry. Jang Hyun-seung who was born on September 3rd, 1989, is a former trainee of YG Entertainment and he was preparing to debut with BIGBANG.
He joined the auditioned for YG Entertainment in 3 rounds straight but he kept getting eliminated. Jang Hyun-seung then decided to met CEO Yang Hyun-suk in person and he got accepted to become a trainee when he was around 14 years old. After one year and four months of trainee period, he was chosen to debut with BIGBANG with the stage name So-1 which means ‘Hope’ in Korean.
Unfortunately, Hyun-seung got eliminated in the final episode when he had to battle with Seungri. Yang Hyun-suk explained that his expression and the stage presence of Jang Hyun-seung weren’t developed yet at that time.
Jang Hyun-seung then met Yoon Do-joon and Yang Yo-seob who had the same dreams as him and they joined Cube Entertainment to form a band consisting of 6 members, thus debuting in 2009 as a member of the boy band BEAST. During his promotions and activities with the group, they made the hits “Fiction,” “Beautiful Night,” “12:30,” and “Breath.”
Beside promoting with BEAST, he is also a member of Cube Entertainment’s duo with HyunA, who is also his co-worker in the same agency and the rapper of the girl group 4Minute and they made a huge success with their songs, such as “Troublemaker” and “Now.”
In 2016, Jang Hyun-seung revealed some shocking news for his fans that he decided to leave the group and become a solo artist as he also renewed an exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment in the same year. His latest appearance in television was when he participated in Mnet’s Hit The Stage and demonstrated his talent in dancing before he officially enlisted in the military service in 2018.
Euna Kim
Euna Kim was known by her birth name Kim Yu-na and was born in New York, USA, on October 27th, 1994. Euna Kim was a good rapper with her first appearance as a contestant on the singing competition Superstar K3, before signing with YG Entertainment as a trainee in 2011. Two years later, Euna Kim decided to leave the company because of her dreams that she wanted to study abroad in the United States.
In 2015, Euna Kim came back to Korea and made her debut as a member of The Ark under Music K Entertainment and was positioned as the rapper of the group. The group has drawn a lot of attention from K-Pop fans in South Korea and also international fans with their debut single, “Somebody 4 Life.” The Ark has an image of a strong girl group yet still has a cute and innocent side of each member but unfortunately, the group disbanded a year after their debut.
After the disbandment news, Euna Kim signed under the new agency, Maroo Entertainment and participated in Mnet’s Unpretty Rapstar 3 as a female rapper. Although we already knew her talent in rapping as she had to compete with the famous rappers in the K-Pop industry, she got eliminated in Episode 8 and didn’t make it to the final episode.
Still having another opportunity, Euna Kim decided to join an idol rebooting survival show by KBS2 The Unit and ranked at the 10th place in the final episode but she didn’t make it to debut with Uni.T because it only took the top 9 members.
In 2018, Euna Kim reunited again with the former member of The Ark, Jeon Minju, and the two formed a duo named KHAN that promoted eight popular cover songs before releasing their own song titled “I’m Your Girl?”
