The Friendship Between Two Biggest Boy Groups Nowadays EXO and BTS!
EXO and BTS are famously known as the biggest boy groups from South Korea nowadays! It has been proven through their great skills and the big achievements in their careers, as well. They Both Fanboy Over and Congratulate Each Other Group
Have you ever imagined before that EXO and BTS are fanboys over each other’s groups? If you haven’t yet, let’s get to know more about that! Even though EXO and BTS have become the biggest boy groups these days, they still show their admiration towards each other. Just like how EXO and BTS congratulate each other when they receive an award!
They also fanboy over each other. It was evident at the Golden Disk Awards when BTS’s Jungkook was fanboying over EXO’s performance! ARMYs thought that Jungkook’s act at that time was really hilarious! Not only that, there have also been moments when EXO’s Suho was hugged by BTS’s Jimin and J-Hope, as well.
Suho and V also gave their own compliments towards each other, such as when V said that Suho’s performance with EXO was the coolest, and he thought how awesome he was. Meanwhile, Suho was a bit flustered to receive a compliment like that. He also complimented V about his drama project at that time, Hwarang. Suho also said he thought that V must have practiced a lot for the drama, as well!
Another moment was when EXO’s Chanyeol was interviewing BTS’s Jimin during KBS’s Gayo Daechukje. Chanyeol seemed rather flustered and shy during the interview. Chanyeol asked Jimin, “Why do you have to smile like that?” which made the other people there burst into laughter!
EXO Baekhyun and BTS V Resemblance
If you take a look at BTS’ V and EXO’s Baekhyun, you might notice there’s a bit of a resemblance between them! Whether it was their hairstyle, hair color, facial expression, or style! Not only that, V and Baekhyun have been well known for their friendship for a long time. Since the word came out, the fans started to fall in love with their bromance, as well!
The most widely-agreed on part of V and Baekhyun’s resemblance is their puppy eyes! On various occasions, we could see that V and Baekhyun were looking really similar due to their physical appearance. Moreover, when both of them had the same hairstyle or hair colour, they looked even more similar than before!
People also decided that V and Baekhyun looked similar while they were doing an aegyo (cute pose)! Not only that, they also have the dreamy physical appearance which makes people think that they looked like anime characters, as well. Besides all of that, V and Baekhyun are also in the vocal line within their own groups, and both are actors, too!

EXO Kai and BTS Jimin Padding Squad
Have you ever heard of the ‘Padding’ squad between EXO’s Kai and BTS’s Jimin? It is a group of friends which included EXO’s Kai, BTS’s Jimin, SHINee’s Taemin, VIXX’s Ravi, HOTSHOT’s Timoteo, Ha Sung-woo (ex-WANNA ONE), and another, non-celebrity malem as well. Ha Sung-woo once talked about the Padding squad!
The name of ‘Padding’ started when SHINee’s Taemin gave all of the boys a padded jacket. They all spend time together played billiards, card game, and other social activities. They even went to Cebu for a holiday, as well, even though Jimin couldn’t go with them. But still, on many other occasions, they entire Padding squad have gathered together.
And also, during EXO’s Kai and BTS’ Jimin’s moments together outside the ‘Padding’ squad, they still have fun together, such as when EXO and BTS were attending an event and they met. Kai and Jimin were caught on camera with their little interaction. It seemed like Jimin was whispering something in Kai’s ear, and they were hugging each other!
EXO and BTS Interaction at MMA 2016
The same sort of thing happened during the MMA or Melon Music Awards in 2016! BTS and EXO were both there as guests and nominees for certain awards. Not only that, they were also performing their amazing music there!
During BTS’s performance of Blood, Sweat & Tears, EXO members were caught enjoying their performance. The same thing happened when EXO was giving their performance of Monster; BTS showed how much they liked EXO’s performance!

EXO Suho and BTS RM Discussed Being Leaders in Problematic Men
As group leaders, both EXO’s Suho and BTS’s RM definitely have the same urge to lead their own boy groups, and to maintain their groups’ solidarity, as well. You could see it clearly during their appearance on tvN’s Problematic Men! Besides the two of them, there were other guests on the show, such as Lee Jang-won, Kim Ji-suk, Tyler Rasch, and Ha Suk-jin.
Through Problematic Men, they talked about their experiences of being the leader of a boy group. Suho and RM also talked about the burdens of being the leader of a group, as well. At the time, Suho was being asked about what he would do to approach a certain member who had an internal problem within the group. Suho simply replied that he would gather all of the members together and talk about the problem. However, it isn’t as easy as it sounds.
RM also talked about the struggle of being a leader. He said that it was pretty hard to talk about important things with the other members, especially when the members were tired from their busy schedule. Both Suho and RM also agreed that being an leader also meant that they would be the representative of the group when it came to talking with their agency and vice versa.
Moreover, RM was explaining that he was chosen as the leader even though he wasn’t the oldest member of the group, because he was the first person to join BTS. It was sort of the same thing with Suho, who was the first person to join EXO, and had been there for the longest. Not only that, being a leader also made them the representatives of their groups when they were receiving awards or won something important at certain events, as well.
Suho and RM seemed to feel the same ‘burdens’ on their shoulders as leaders of their groups. They shared that despite all of their professionalism and solidarity, the members still got into arguments or had fights sometimes.

EXO Baekhyun and BTS Jimin Interaction at the 5th Gaon Chart Kpop Awards
EXO and BTS also appeared together at the 5th Gaon Chart Kpop Awards! While they were taking photos with all of the guests at the event, EXO and BTS were posed next to each other. EXO’s Baekhyun and BTS’s Jimin were sitting next to each other. Their little interaction was caught on camera, showing they were talking and giggling while taking a picture!

EXO and BTS Interaction at ISAC
EXO and BTS also appeared in the ‘ISAC’ event together! For your information, ISAC was the Idol Star Athletics Championship, a sporting event for K-Pop idols only, and aired twice a year. During the event, K-Pop idols would compete to win a medal in certain athletic sports, such as archery, basketball, football, and many more.
In 2017, EXO and BTS were involved in the event. Both groups appeared as contestants and joined a lot of the competitions there. They didn’t give up on winning their own medal! The most interesting part was when the camera caught some of the great interactions between the EXO members and BTS members.
People, especially from the groups’ fandoms, got really excited when EXO’s Chanyeol and BTS’s Jimin were standing next to each other and were involved in a conversation. It even looked like Chanyeol was holding Jimin’s hand! EXO’s Suho was also caught on camera when he was joined the conversation with the other two men!

EXO-L vs ARMY a Pointless Fan War
Last but not least, there’s something that happened sometimes between EXO and BTS’s fandoms; a fan war! Even though EXO and BTS have built up such a good friendship, it doens’t mean that their fandoms have done the same. You could see it during several fan wars between EXO-Ls and ARMYs who were defending their own idols.
For brief information, fan war was a term for a situation where certain fandoms attack other fandoms verbally or mentally through the internet. They do it in order to defend their idols, and the war is often caused by trivial or unnecessary things. Usually, it gets caused by rivalry among K-Pop idols, just like between EXO-Ls and ARMYs when they were defending their own idols.
Since EXO-Ls and ARMYs have had more than one fan war over the internet, people aren’t entirely sure which side started the tensions. The fan wars between EXO-Ls and ARMYs started to happening in 2015. Some of the reasons why the war s started are such as when EXO-Ls were accused by ARMYs of spreading the rumor about sajaegi (chart manipulation) towards BTS, or when EXO-Ls said that BTS was copying EXO’s concept, and other, similar issues.
Mostly, the fan war began when both EXO and BTS were nominated for the same awards. EXO-Ls and ARMYs were competing with each other to make their idol be the winner. The awards were calculated from voting, that’s why those fandoms were struggling really hard.
As time went by, the fan war between EXO-Ls and ARMYs started to reduce. Moreover, after they saw that EXO and BTS were such a good friends for each other, it also led the fandoms to spread their ‘peace’ sign. Well, hopefully those fandoms were always being supportive!
