Suho’s Appearance in KBS’ Cool FM’s Jung Eun-ji’s Music Plaza
EXO’s Suho appeared on KBS’ Cool FM radio broadcast Jung Eun-ji’s Music Plaza in July 2019. In the broadcast from July 2nd, Suho spoke of his friendship with Apink’s Jung Eun-ji, “We first met when Apink’s Son Na-eun and SHINee’s Taemin appeared on We Got Married. We introduced ourselves and then made friends, and two months later, we borrowed our voices in an animated film together. We talked a lot about music and then became close.”
One listener commented, “Can you release music together,” to which Jung Eun-ji replied, “Someday we will have to release a song together.” Suho added, “Sounds good.” Jung Eun-ji then asked about EXO’s meeting with President Donald Trump at the Blue House. Previously, EXO was invited in a banquet held by President Moon Jae-in to welcome President Donald Trump at the Blue House on July 2nd, as a K-Pop representative.
Suho commented, “We met with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, but not because of the power of EXO, it seems (we were invited) because of the power of K-Pop. K-Pop is loved a lot all over the world, and I’m sure (Ivanka Trump) also likes a lot (K-Pop groups), but it seems like she really likes EXO. I heard President Trump’s grandchildren are also EXO fans, and we also met with advisor Ivanka Trump at the PyeongChang Olympics, so that seems to be the reason we got this chance.”
He continued, “This is a little off the topic, but it was President Trump who offered to shake hands with us. We introduced ourselves to each other, but because of his tweet that day, reporters asked him about Panmunjom. He laughed and answered, ‘I don’t know either but it seems interesting.’ He then asked us, ‘Do you understand what I’m saying?’ So we said that we knew. I am shocked. He said a word that I usually hear in movies easily at an international event, so I was very surprised.” President Donald Trump previously invited Kim Jong-un to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) via Twitter.
Suho then told me about his nickname, “SM Entertainment’s ‘Passion Group’ consisting of Yunho, Minho, and me. Although I am still lacking enthusiasm compared to the other two, I accept it.” When asked if he wanted to be called by another nickname, Suho answered that he liked being known as the “EXO leader,” but it would be more fun if he was also known as Kim Jun-myeon as an actor.

On this occasion, Suho who opened an Instagram account at the end of 2018 then revealed the reason behind his Instagram account username. The “Love Shot” singer’s account has the username @kimjuncotton. It was revealed, apparently, @kimjuncotton was not the only username chosen by Suho. The owner’s real name Kim Jun-myeon originally wanted to use his name as the lyrics, SH20 and add the date of his birth, but the username had already been taken by fans.
“I thought about the name ‘EXO Guardian’ (Suho means guardian or protector in Korean) because that is the meaning of Suho but it sounds like a game character. I also had a hard time choosing between ‘kimjunnoodle’ and ‘kimjuncotton,'” he continued.
Meanwhile, Suho and other EXO members were also busy with a solo concert titled “EXO PLANET #5 – The EXplOration.” The concerts were held on July 19-21 and July 26-28, 2019.
