Lee Hong-ki Gave Up on His Former Bandmate
Lee Hong-ki opened up over the latest controversy involving his band mate, Choi Jong-hoon. As is known, the FT Island leader is being investigated for a drunk driving case which was covered up by bribing police in 2016. In addition, he is also a member of the chat group with Seungri and Jung Joon-young.
On March 14, 2019, Lee Hong-ki made a post on his personal Instagram account that drew the attention of fans. The 1990-born idol uploaded a photo of his pet dog, Monggeul, lying on the floor. “Monggeul. I gave up,” he wrote using hashtag.

After that, fans touched on the controversy about Choi Jong-hoon in the comments section, some of them asking about the meaning behind the second hashtag. One comment in Japanese asked him not to give up. “I’m begging you. Please don’t give up on Choi Jong-hoon,” the fan wrote.
In response, Lee Hong-ki only left a short comment. “I gave up,” he wrote.
Previously, Lee Hong-ki was said to be involved in the chat group with Seungri and Jung Joon-young. But reporter Kang Kyung-yoon denied that Hong-ki was a member of the chat group. Meanwhile, FNC Entertainment denied the involvement of Choi Jong-hoon, but finally it was revealed that he was, indeed, a member of the chat group.
