GOT The Beat is the first female project from SM’s project titled Girls On Top (GOT). For Its first project, GOT The Beat debuted with seven-member from the SM girlgroup. The member of GOT The Beat is BoA a female soloist that also the leader of Hallyu waves, Girls Generation’s leader and main vocal Taeyeon, Girls Generation’s main rapper and main dancer Hyoyeon, Red Velvet’s main dancer Seulgi, Red Velvet’s main vocal Wendy, aespa’s leader and main dancer Karina, and aespa’s visual and maknae, Winter.

The announcement for the supergroup female project called Girls On Top was announced on December 27th, 2021. With the announcement of the member of GOT the Beat, the title of their song was also revealed. With hip hop and R&B, Step Back would show how it becomes an ode to women who are always proud and full of confidence. The digital single is scheduled to release on January 3rd, 2022.
