Heo Ji Woong Announced His Recovery After Six Months of Treatment
From his personal SNS, Heo Ji Woong wrote some happy news, saying “I no longer have cancer.” In a photo along with the post that was uploaded, he reveals his healthy image while working out at a fitness club with a short haircut as well.
He announced to good news in the post, “I have completed the cancer treatment process. They said that there will be no seeds of cancer in future tests. My hair and eyebrows are also growing again.”
Moreover Heo Jiwoong said, “I remember the story of a person who told me that he/she was strengthened to be able to stand up again at the most difficult moment thanks to my post, and that person now wants to help others. It seems that I did not have a good life to receive such encouragement and support. I was unable to reach it despite the efforts. It was the most embarrassing thing to me during the time I was hospitalized.”

Actor Kim Woo Bin Helped Heo Ji Woong During Battle With Cancer
Heo Ji Woong made his first appearance at MBC’s ‘I Live Alone’ on October 18, 2019, after the long hiatus due to his battle with Lymphoma. During the show, he talked about how actor Kim Woo Bin helped him during the cancer treatment.
He said, “Anticancer drugs are poison, when it enters your body you experience all kinds of side effects. What gets you through all of that is hearing cases of other people that got better after doing everything they were told by their doctors, nothing gives you more hope.”
Heo Ji Woong added that Kim Woo Bin messaged him while he was undergoing the treatment, “Kim Woo Bin told me that hearing what others experienced and how they got better was a big source of comfort for him, and that’s why he contacted me. So he could share his experiences with me.”
He added more by saying, “Just the fact that people have made full recoveries is a huge help to people undergoing treatment. So I want to be of help, too.”
Heo Ji Woong Feelings During The Hard Times
After his full recovery from cancer, Heo Ji Woong has appeared in various variety shows. On October 23, 2019, he appeared in a broadcast of ‘Radio Star’. Heo Ji Woong recalled the moment where he received his diagnosis a year ago. He stated:
“I couldn’t even imagine it. I don’t even get colds easily. I get health check-ups every year and never got a cancer diagnosis. They said nothing was wrong with me. I told the hospital that my chest area was hurting and to connect me to a university hospital. When they tested me, they immediately saw that it’s cancer. I felt strange when they called me to the blood tumor department.” He then continued, “They said it was cancer, that they were almost certain. I was so mad from my perspective. I did health check-ups every year but had this big disease.”
Heo Ji Woong also explained the rage at why some major hospital that he has visited before didn’t catch the ilness earlier, he says:
“They told me it was cancer, and that they were pretty certain. I was angry. I went to a big hospital every year to get checkups. But I heard there’s a lot of people who got randomly diagnosed like I did.”
