Hyun Bin was born as Kim Tae Pyung in Songpa District, Seoul, on 25th September 1982. He has one older brother whose name is unknown. Hyun Bin grew up in an average family as a silent but curious kid. Although he didn’t speak much, he loved to play detective with his brother around the house.

Despite living as a normal teenager, he was quite famous among his high school friends for his extremely good looks. His senior then advised him to join the school theatre club where his interest in acting started to grow.

He is also known to be frugal when it comes to money. In 2013, Hyun Bin received President’s Award for saving record 35 billion won in 17 years.

Hyun Bin’s family details was never revealed to public because he prefers to keep his personal matters away from the public eye. However, it was known that Hyun Bin’s family runs a real estate business. His father’s name is Kim Wong Hong, while his mother’s name was not disclosed.

In 2014, Hyun Bin and his family under their company, HB Family Holdings, built a 7-story building in the elite Cheongdam neighborhood of Seoul. The property was bought in cash for 4.8 billion won at the time. The building was strategically located among luxurious houses and rented for commercial uses.
