Story From Produce 48 to IZ*ONE

https://blog.onehallyu.com

Produce 48 is a South Korean survival event directed by Ahn Joon-young, who also directed Produce 101 Season 1 and Season 2. The difference between Produce 48 and the second season of Produce 101 is a large-scale project where the community selects 12 members from 96 participants from Japan and Korea, and chooses the group concept, debut song, and the name of the group.

Produce 48 is a collaboration between Produce 101, J-Pop, and AKB48 idols. The twelve participants who have won, without restrictions on citizenship, chosen only by Korean viewers, will promote as a group for two and a half years. After following a series of very difficult processes, twelve participants were selected and were finally put together in the IZ*ONE group formed on August 31st, 2018

The IZ*ONE group consists of members from Korea and Japan. Because of the tight schedule for IZ*ONE, three members of AKB48, namely Sakura, Nako, and Hitomi will be vacuumed from AKB48 to focus on the IZ*ONE schedule. IZ*ONE debuted with the Color*iz EP with the title song “La Vie en Rose,” which title track is the same as the 1945 song title from the French musician Edith Piaf. IZ*ONE will promote for 30 months, until late 2021, one year longer than IOI. Even so, IZ*ONE has had many fans from the very beginning of their career.
Good luck to IZ*ONE! They are also determined to be better and follow in the footsteps of IOI and Wanna One.

IZ*ONE was formed on August 31st, 2018, and debuted on October 29th, 2018, with the title song “La Vie en Rose.” Unfortunately, IZ*ONE was criticized by some Korean people about one of the songs from COLOR*IZ, namely “You’re in Love, Aren’t You?” because the lyrics are contrary to KBS regulations. However, the petition did not have a big effect and IZ*ONE continued to participate in Music Bank. IZ*ONE’s debut also reached a record with their album COLOR*IZ and the title song “La Vie en Rose,” which received the highest achievement on the first day of sales at Hanteo by selling as many as 34,295 copies.
