Jang Dong-yoon and His Love Interests in Dramas
We all know that Jang Dong-yoon has been playing the leading role in many dramas, such as School 2017, Mr. Sunshine, The Tale of Nokdu, and many more. He has acted alongside many Korean actresses, like Kim Sejong, and Kim So-hyun, etc. Let’s take a look at their chemistry on shooting sites and dramas!
Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Sejeong
Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Sejeong played the main characters in the KBS teen-romance drama School 2017 along with Kim Jung Hyun. Jang Dong-yoon played as Song Dae-hwi, a smart student. He is the school president. Dae-hwi appeared to be charismatic as a kind and friendly person, but he came from an underprivileged family. Despite being poor, he is forced to tutor other rich kids for the money.
Meanwhile, Kim Sejeong played as Ra Eun-ho, an 18-year-old student who is low-ranked but ambitious and dreams of studying to become a webtoon artist. She comes from a middle family that runs a chicken restaurant. Another lead role, Kim Jung Hyun played as Hyun Tae-woon/Student X. He played a person with a rebellious attitude.
Hyun Tae-woon showed his rebellious attitude by his acts towards Eun-ho. It seems that these two figures will have a unique relationship and often argue in school. On another side, the way Dae-hwi looked at Eun-ho seemed a little mysterious as if he wanted to say something. That gaze was replied in the same way full of meaning from Eun-ho. Seems like a strange triangle love story, right? You can watch School 2017 on Netflix.

Jang Dong-yoon and Kim So-hyun
Jang Dong-yoon and Kim So-hyun were the main cast of the drama The Tale of Nokdu, along with Kang Tae-oh and Jung Joon-ho. The drama is based on the webtoon by Hye Jin-yang which was published in 2014 on Naver Webtoon.
Jang Dong-yoon played as Jeon Nok-du, Lady Kim Nok-soon, and Yeon Soo. He is a smart and athletic man which because of an incident, enters an all-women village where men are strictly forbidden. Because of that, he dresses as a woman in the guise of the widowed Lady Kim Nok-soon.
On the other hand, Kim So-hyun played as Dong Dong-joo/Yoo Eun-seo. She is a clumsy one and a hot-tempered kisaeng trainee who has no experience in performing arts, but who has the ability to do something when given a tool.
The Tale of Nokdu is a kind of fun and romantic comedy-drama set in the Joseon Dynasty. It was Jang Dong-yoon’s first historical drama. Jang Dong-yoon said that he was very comfortable acting with Kim So-hyun. “Other than my official fan café, I try not to read the public’s reaction. But I could sense the great love it was receiving through the fan café. At the set, I was very comfortable acting with Kim So-hyun. We worked well together, so many people on set talked about it. They would say, ‘If this scene is aired, it will be really good.’ The director also said, ‘What you just did right now looked natural and good.’ I think meeting the cast two months before shooting to read the script together gave us time to get comfortable and get close with each other. It made a huge difference. Of course, I think having a personal bond helped me when I was filming and acting, and I think I will continue to have those thoughts when I act.”
