Jung Yong-hwa Comeback from His Military Service
Doing military service in South Korea is something that must be carried out by all men there as a form of national defense, including artists. One of them is a member of CNBLUE, Jung Yong-hwa who had just completed his mandatory military service in December 2019 after 2 years carrying out his mandatory military service. Jung Yong-hwa has been carrying out his military service since March 2018 and has been placed in special forces.
The FNC Entertianment made the statement, “Jung Yong-hwa completed five weeks of basic military training with very good grades. Now he is placed in the 702 Special Attack Regiment in the Second Corps after submitting himself. Jung Yonghwa will carry out his military duties with faith and good health. excellent in the future. We ask that you continue to support him until he returns. Thank you.”

Donation For Gangwon’s Wildfire Victim
In April 2018, many South Korean artists made donations to help the victims of the wildfire in Gangwon Province. Reporting from Soompi, on April 4, 2018 at approximately 7 p.m. KST, a fire broke out near Ilsung Resort in Goseong County that soon spread to downtown Sokcho. The following day, the Korean government declared a state of disaster in areas of Gangwon Province after the fire destroyed around 250 hectares of forest and burned down 125 homes. It was further reported that one person was edited and 11 people have been injured.
According to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association, Jung Yong-hwa, who is currently serving in the military and set to be discharged in November, also made a donation of 20 million won. Besides Jung Yong-hwa, other artists such as Suzy donated 100 million won to the victims of the fire. Yoo Jae-suk and So Yoo-jin also made a generous donation of 50 million won, each.
Also, Park Shin-hye and Han Hye-jin also donated 30 million won each. Other celebrities such as Park Narae, Jung Hyung-don, Seo Hyun-jin, Kwanghee, Han Hyo-joo, and Kang Sora also donated 20 million won and many other artists who made donations for the victims of the wildfire in Gangwon Province.
31st Birthday #HappyYONGHWAday
On June 21, 2019 Jung Yong-hwa celebrated his 31st birthday. FNC Entertainment, posted their congratulations on June 22 with the hashtag #HappyYONGHWAday. He looks healthy and happy in his military uniform. At that time, Yonghwa celebrated his birthday when he was still serving in the military and many of his fans gave their support and prayed for the best for Yonghwa and they all really missed Yonghwa.
His fans celebrated Yonghwa’s birthday by using the hashtag #HappyYONGHWAday and they uploaded the best photos of Yonghwa and shared them on their respective social media accounts, not forgetting that they gave their best wishes to Yonghwa and were healthy during their military service.
Jung Yong Hwa Scholarship Program for Namsan High School Students
In February 2019, Yonghwa established a scholarship institution at his alma mater high school. Even though he is undergoing military service, Yonghwa still gives a lot of help to people in need by one of them establishing a scholarship program at Namsan High School located in Busan.
Reporting from FNC Entertainment they said, “Jung Yong-hwa has established a scholarship institution at Busan Namsan High School which is his alma mater and will provide scholarships to his graduates every year.” He attended the graduation ceremony held on February 12, 2019, awarding six scholarships to selected graduates. Jung Yong-hwa also donated to the school’s development and will continue to do so
Of course this is supported by many people especially his fans who feel very proud of Yonghwa’s concern for education in South Korea. His fans naturally gave support and praise to Yonghwa’s good behavior and caring attitude even though he was busy serving in the army as a special soldier.
Full Membes of KOMCA
KOMCA or the Korea Music Copyright Association released members who joined the association for 2019. The Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) named 25 songwriters, including several idol members, as its new full members. The Korea Music Copyright Association is a non-profit organization in charge of collective rights management of musical works, unveiled the list of 25 songwriters, who were promoted to full membership in its homepage, ahead of its 56th general assembly at the 63 Convention Center in Seoul .
The requirements for the promotion to full member status include being a junior member of KOMCA for three years or more, receiving a certain amount in royalties each year, and also being selected by the board of directors. Becoming a full member of KOMCA gives an artist the right to vote at the organization’s general meetings.
Reporting from Soompi, 2019’s list of new full members includes Chancellor, Bumzu, Slow Rabbit, 10cm’s Kwon Jungyeol, former 10cm members Yoon Cheoljong, Kim Tae-joo, iKON’s BI, Zion.T, Samuel Seo, Seo Yong-bae, Iggy, Highlights’s Yong Junhyung, Zico, pianist and composer Yiruma, Gray, SEVENTEEN’s Woozi, Akdong Musician’s Lee Chan-hyuk, Busker Busker frontman Jang Beom-jun, CNBLUE’s Jung Yong-hwa, B1A4’s Jinyoung, and more.
Out of more than 30,000 members, the Korea Music Copyright Association promotes 25 of its junior members into full members every year. Becoming a full member in KOMCA requires at least three years in the organization as a junior member. It is also dependent on the amount of royalties a songwriter receives.

Jung Yong Hwa’s Discharged From Military Service
In November 2019, successfully completing his mandatory military service, Jung Yong Hwa greeted a large crowd of approximately 1,000 fans who had gathered in Gangwon Province to celebrate his return. Reporting from Soompi, Jung Yong-hwa, who expressed nervousness at speaking before a large crowd for the first time in nearly two years, thanked his fans for their support.
He said, “Thanks to everyone who cheered me on, I was able to successfully complete my military service in good health. My time in the military was an opportunity for me to improve myself. The time I spent serving in the military was not at all wasted. Using this valuable time as a foundation, I will show you a more mature and admirable side of myself in the future.”
Yonghwa felt very lucky and happy to be able to carry out his military service well and many parties always gave shamans to him including his fans. Yonghwa really thanked him and he promised to do everything in his best efforts and fulfill the promises he had made. Well, congratulation for Jung Yong-hwa and have a better life!
