Official Debut
The two JXR members are former contestants of Produce 101 Season 2, and they have also known each other for a while and are close friends. Yuri and Baekjin were said to be a duo that was formed as a result of a collaboration project between ESteem Entertainment and Vine Entertainment under the name ESVINE Entertainment. This began in 2019, more precisely on November 27th, their official Instagram account posted a short video with the caption: “JxR DEBUT COMING SOON.” Then starting from December 2th–4th, they released both individual and group concept teasers.
After releasing the concept teasers, on December 5th, 2019, JXR officially debuted by releasing their first single and music video titled “Element.” Their debut really caught the attention of the people who already waited for them, even more so in making this single Drew Ryan Scott took part in the music production and arrangement. As we know, Drew Ryan Scott is a singer from the United States who had previously taken part in making the legendary Super Junior song “Sorry Sorry,” and songs of other groups from SM Entertainment such as EXO and TVXQ.
The lyrics of their song “Element” were also written directly by Yuri and Baekjin, as they have already been known as songwriters since appearing in Produce 101 Season 2. Their debut was Yuri and Baekjin’s first debut as singers after both of them had a chance and failed in a competition.
The day after debut, JXR made their first debut stage on a weekly music program named Music Bank aired on KBS. They made an energetic performance and also danced with their own charisma in black and grey suits with some back dancers.
The lyrics of their song tells about someone who falls in love at first sight with a girl, and, and the girl feels the same way. As a new idol group, of course, they have a lot of schedules for promoting their single and their group. Seeing from JXR’s official Instagram @official.jxr it seems that they have a pretty tight schedule. This can be seen in their Instagram posts: Yuri is the MC of the After School Club talk show program that airs every Tuesday on ARIRANG TV. As for the group schedule, it seems like there’s no official information about their activities for a comeback or anything else.
