Youngeun Pre-Debut Era Dance School, Appearance on Girls Planet 999 and More
Ever since she was younger, Youngeun has practiced many kinds of dances. She can dance Korean ethnic dances, she practiced ballet, and she is even very good at hip hop dancing. Aside from that, Youngeun was a student of ModernK Music Academy where she got other lessons in terms of singing, dancing, and music.
Youngeun also got to join Biscuit Entertainment as a trainee. When she got older and realized her dream career path, Youngeun joined the survival show Girls Planet 999 in 2021 as a contestant of Biscuit Entertainment.
On the show, Youngeun showed off her best performances during many chances. Her hard work eventually paid off since she finished the show in the 5th rank and was selected as a final lineup member of the upcoming project group Kep1er.
Youngeun Debut With Kep1er
After the survival show Girls Planet 999 ended, the chosen members of the upcoming project girl group from the show were prepared. There were 9 contestants from the show included Youngeun that would debut as a group named Kep1er.
Since they are a project girl group, they have a special contract where Kep1er will be active for around 2.5 years before their contract ends sometime in 2024. Finally, Kep1er officially debuted on January 3, 2022, by releasing the mini-album First Impact with “Wa Da Da” as the title track.
The name Kep1er stands for the combination of “kep” which means catching dreams and the number “1” means that the 9 girls come as 1. It was also inspired by the German astronomer Johannes Kepler and the Kepler planet. For the greatest achievement, Kep1er got their first win for “Wa Da Da” on M! COUNTDOWN only a few days after their official debut.
