The story is set in 1996, and is about a girl left inside a coin locker at Western Seoul Station. The girl was taken by a beggar who named her Il-young (played by Kim Go-eun).
When the girl was 10 years old, she was forcibly taken by a detective who sold her to a woman called “Mother”, who was a boss from moneylender crime and illegal organ selling in the Chinatown area of Incheon. Instead of paying for the detective’s loan, Il-young (played by Kim Go-eun) was used as a tool by Ma Woo-hee (played by Kim Hye-soo), who raised the girl to become a debt collector in the organization headed by “Mother”, who has the real name Ma Woo-hee.
One day, Il-young is ordered to collect debts from Park Seok-hyun (played by Park Bo-gum). Park Seok-hyun’s father is in debt but, strangely, Park Seok-hyun isn’t afraid of Il-young and instead shows kindness to the girl. Gradually, Park Seok-hyun feels that he has developed a special feelings for Il-young.
But when Park Seok-hyun’s father paid off his debt to “Mother”, Ma Woo-hee instead told Il-young to kill Park Seok-hyun. She did not agree with what her stepmother wanted and made the personal decision to run away from her adoptive family, who had taught her many things that were very brutal.

The plot of this movie tells of a lawyer named Byeon Ho-sung (played by Lee Sun-kyun), who has the life motto “Victory is justice, and I am the winner.” Once upon a time, Byeon Ho-sung won a lawsuit for a conglomerate pharmaceutical company, and the chairman of the company, Moon Ji-hoon (played by Jang Hyun-sung) asked him to return to defend his personal driver, Kim Jeong-hwan (played by Kim Choi Jae- woong), who killed a student named Han Min-jeong (played by Kim Yoon-hye).
At that time, there was a scene where the corpse had been found but there was no witnesses to the incident. At the same time, a lawyer named Jin Sun-min (played by Kim Go-eun) believes she is following Han Min-jeong, then lawyer Byeon Ho-sung can deny the claim and win the lawsuit that he killed Han Min-jeong.
From this complicated incident, Byeon Ho-sung decided to cooperate with Jin Sun-min and after searching deeper, this case turned out to be related to the chairman of the pharmaceutical company, Moon Ji-hoon.
