These TV shows are somehow similar, because of the big concept: inviting Korean stars such as singers, actors, and other idols to get to know each other by doing common daily things, such as cooking, doing sports, playing games, and stuff. Even though each show has its own unique concept, these shows are popular because they attract the audiences by the appearances of the stars so the fans can get to know about the specific idol through the show.
Running Man
Currently, one of the longest-running and most popular variety shows in Korean TV history, and one of the most well-known variety shows in the Hallyu community worldwide. Originally, Running Man contestants performed various tasks at famous Korean landmarks to win a race. The cast is made up of regular contestants and guests. This TV show really is entertaining and never fails to make us burst out in laughter.

The same big concept that these TV shows present is that in these shows, there will be participants trying their luck to be a star, and some judges who are senior actors or singers that have more experiences in the entertainment industry decide who moves to the next round. These are simply TV shows that produce K-Pop stars by their own rating. These are great shows for K-Pop fans to get to see the basics of how songs are made.
Well, that’s all about the differences among the several K-Pop generations. The first generation started in 1996 with H.O.T, extending to G.O.D, BoA, Sechskies, S.E.S, Fin.K.L, BoA, Shinhwa, and more. The second generation started in 2004 with TVXQ, extending to Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, Big Bang, SHINee, and more.
And in the third generation or current generation, we have BTS, EXO, Wanna One, TWICE, BLACKPINK, Seventeen, and more.
