Kyulkyung Sub Unit PRISTIN V
After a really long time, Pristin finally debuted their subunit, which consists of five members, Nayoung, Roa, Eunwoo, Rena, and, obviously, Kyulkyung. The sub-unit was named Pristin V. The ‘V’ stands for the Roman numeral for five, and it also refers to their villain concept. Each member expressed a different kind of villain. For Kyulkyung, she is someone who was born as a villain. The album, “Like a V”, was released on May 28, 2018.
Get It (2018)
You’ll be shocked with this song, because it sounds kind of sensual and is a 180-degree turnabout from the group’s previous two songs’ concepts. Even though it’s not as catchy as previous songs, Pristin V served us quality. You might think tennis court set in the music video is kinda off, but I bet that’s one of the scenes that you remember the most.
This is the fancier version of Pristin, with a more glamorous look than usual, especially the accessories. It seems that big earrings have become a trend among k-pop idols. She also wears multiple necklaces to make it fancy. I know that you really love the black dress that Kyulkyung wears on this music video. The black dress looks flattering on her slim body, but, to be honest, all the outfits here look really glam and capture girl-crush vibes while staying very feminine. The makeup also gives a bonus point; for this comeback she wears bold makeup, but it doesn’t look like too much on her face. Actually, it makes her face her more attractive.
Idol Producer
Idol Producer is a survival show that’s really similar to Produce 101, the only difference is that this show is the Chinese version. The program featured 100 trainees fighting for the chance to debut in an idol group, and the show was noted to have a blue triangle logo, similar to that of “Produce 101 Season 2.” The final nine contestants debuted in Nine Percent, also known as 9%. There were many K-Pop Idols who are Chinese, and participated as mentors or hosts in show, such as EXO’s Lay, Got7’s Jackson, WJSN’s Cheng Xiao, and, lastly, Pristin’s Kyulkyung.
Kyulkung was the dance mentor along with Cheng Xiao. They helped guide the contestants during their training. The first episode of this program was aired in January, 2018, which was only a year after I.O.I’s disbandment and only 10 months after she debuted with Pristin. Netizens criticized her harsh criticisms towards the trainees because of that. They think that she’s only “an ordinary idol” compared to EXO and Got7.
There’s an episode where the trainees have a special collaboration stage with the mentor. Kyulkyung was with the trainees performing the ‘Men In Black’ concept with “Agent J”. She wore head to toe black, and her hair was still black, too. The outfit was sexy, and black leather jacket made it look cooler. The makeup was simple, with a touch of red on her lips.
