Get Closer With South Korean Idol-Actor Group 5urprise
5urprise is a South Korean idol group with five members in it. 5urprise was launched by the talent agency Fantagio Entertainment in September 2013. The members of this group consist of Seo Kang-joon, Gong Myung, Yoo Il, Kang Tae-oh, and Lee Tae-hwan. All members have been netted through the Fantagio Actor League which aims to find new talents. They were not only trained in acting, but they were also trained in singing and dancing.
5urprise officially debuted on November 18th, 2014, with their first single titled “From My Heart.” Besides debuting in South Korea, they also made their debut in Japan with the release of their first single, “5urprise Flight.”

Cunning Single Lady
Na Ae-ra, from childhood, believed that she was born to be just beautiful and not smart. While working in her family restaurant, Na Ae-ra falls in love with Cha Jung-woo, a geeky graduate student studying to enter the civil service. Na Ae-ra only wants to be a housewife and she promises that she can do it. Eventually, they get married.
On their 100-day wedding anniversary, Cha Jung-woo announces that he quit his job because he got an idea about running his own business. This is what makes Na Ae-ra experience severe stress. Eventually, Na Ae-ra divorces Cha Jung-woo after four years of marriage.
Three years after the divorce, Na Ae-ra finds out that Cha Jung-woo has become successful and wealthy, while she still pays off the debt they acquired while they were still married. Their lives begin to intertwine since they meet each other again. Na Ae-ra plans to take revenge, while Jung-woo believes that Na Ae-ra wants him to return because he has become a rich person.
In this drama, Seo Kang-joon plays as Gook Seung-hyun (Gook Yeo-jin’s brother).
Cheese In The Trap
Cheese In Trap tells the story of the relationship between a student, Hong Seol (Kim Go-eun) and her senior, Yoo Jung (Park Hae-jin). Hong Seol is a smart student who works very hard to be able to pay for her studies, while Yoo Jung is a handsome, rich, and smart student. All the women in his campus are crazy about Yoo Jung, only Yoo Jung is more interested in Hong Seol and this is thought to be very strange by Hong Seol. Hong Seol even avoids and suspects Yoo Jung because everything she plans is changing because Yoo Jung starts with a plan for Hong Seol’s class schedule to change so that Hong Seol can get a scholarship which she considers odd and all related to Yoo Jung.
Although not the main actor, in Cheese in the Trap, starring Park Hae-jin and Kim Go-eun, Seo Kang-joon successfully distracted viewers. He plays Baek In-ho, a talented young pianist, who was adopted by the wealthy Yoo Jung family. He actually comes from a poor circle, but he has a good personality and can get along with Hong Seol, who melts his heart. He and Yoo Jung used to be friends as children, but now they become rivals.
Entourage
Entourage revolves around the twists and turns of the lives of four friends, that is Cha Young-bin, Lee Ho-jin, Cha Joon, and Geobook (Turtle), and Kim Eun-gab who is the artist management CEO where Cha Young-bin takes shelter. The drama focuses on the story of Cha Young-bin, a famous star who experiences various kinds of intrigues related to his occupation.
Seo Kang-joon closed the year 2016 by appearing in the black comedy drama Entourage, along with a number of famous actors, such as Cho Jin-woong, Lee Kwang-soo, Park Jung-min, and Lee Dong-hwi. Entourage was adapted from an American TV series that tells the story of a movie star and the people around him who also work in the world of showbiz. Seo Kang-joon plays Cha Young-bin, a handsome star who is on the rise and is quite famous.
Are You Human Too?
Are You Human Too? will tell you about the story of the life journey of a handsome and rich-looking young man named Nam Shin (Seo Kang-joon), who since childhood lives in luxury and is laden with wealth. Nam Shin is the son of Oh Ro-ra (Kim Sung-ryoung) the owner of a large company in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics.
One day, an unwanted incident happens, Nam Shin has an accident and he ends up in a coma for a very long time. Due to the mother’s longing for her son, she makes a copy of a robot and names him Nam Shin III.
This is the first time for Seo Kang-joon to be cast as a single leading man paired with Gong Seung-yeon. The drama of romance is unique because it has elements of science fiction, politics, and mystery. Seo Kang-joon plays the main character Nam Shin, a young man from a conglomerate family who falls into a coma due to an unexpected accident. His mother, Oh Ro-ra, who is an expert in brain science and artificial intelligence, creates an android aka human robot to temporarily replace his position as the company’s heir.
