Complete List of 13 Best Female Rappers in K-Pop That You Should Know! Byeol Korea Version!

5. Ex-4Minute’s Hyuna

For the next performer on the list, we have the former 4Minute member, Hyuna! You must already know Hyuna for her natural sexiness or her provocative dancing, but did you know she’s an awesome rapper, too?

Kim Hyun-ah (born June 6, 1992) is a South Korean singer-songwriter, rapper, and model, better known by the mononym Hyuna. She made her debut in February, 2007, as a member of the group Wonder Girls. Hyuna left JYP Entertainment soon after leaving the ensemble and joined 4Minute, a girl-group under Cube Entertainment. 4Minute made its debut in June, 2009, and became one of the country’s most famous girl-groups.

Hyuna started her solo career in 2010, with a style she defined as “performance-oriented music.” Her debut single, Change, peaked on the Gaon Digital Chart of South Korea at number two. In 2011, with the release of her first extended play, Bubble Pop!, Hyuna won wider public recognition. Over three million digital copies were sold by the title track and she became the first woman K-pop solo artist to achieve 100 million opinions on a single YouTube music video. She appeared in a successful duet version of the global hit Gangnam Style by Psy in 2012 and later published her second extended play, Melting, which spawned her first number one single,  Ice Cream.

She’s a girl with many talents, don’t you think?

Following her relationship with former Pentagon member E’Dawn, Hyuna ended her contract with Cube Entertainment in 2018. Later in the same year, she signed with PSY’s P-Nation, along with her boyfriend.

Good luck at your new label, Hyuna!

6. Heize

For the seventh on our list, we have Heize! She gained popularity when she appeared on Unpretty Rapstar with EXO’s Chanyeol.

Jang Da-hye (born August 9, 1991) is a South Korean singer, rapper, songwriter and composer from Stone Music Entertainment, better known by her stage name, Heize. After her debut with the EP Heize in 2014, she became known after appearing on the second season of Unpretty Rapstar. Unfortunately, she was eliminated in the semi-finals, nevertheless, her appearance brought her attention as a singer and rapper.

On July 7, 2019, Heize’s collaboration song with BTS’s Suga and Giriboy, entitled We Don’t Talk Together, was officially released at 6:00 PM KST. The song turns out to be a sad story about a couple. We Don’t Talk Together by Heize and Giriboy is a slick collaboration between the two of them, as well as BTS’ Suga and EL CAPITXN.

She’s so talented and her songs deserve to be on your playlist if they aren’t already!

7. Brown Eyed Girls’ Miryo

For the eighth on our list, we have Brown Eyed Girls’ Miryo! Being a member of second-generation K-pop group, you must be familiar with her name, but did you already recognize her talent as a rapper?

Check out her solo song featuring GIANTPINK, Rock-Scissors-Paper!

Jo Mi-hye (born November 2, 1981) is a South Korean rapper, singer, and record producer, better recognized by her stage name, Miryo. She is currently the rapper of the girl-group Brown Eyed Girls and is a former member of the Honey Family rap group. Miryo started as a soloist in 2012, also appearing as a producer in the first season of Show Me the Money.

Miryo is also a songwriter besides being a rapper. She has copyright to most of the songs among female idols, with a total of 56 songs by March, 2013. For Honey Family and her present group, Brown Eyed Girls, she acted as a composer and lyricist. Amazing, right?

In July 2015, she released her single album Queen, with her group-mate Ga-In featuring on the title song. She and the other members of Brown Eyed Girls left their agency, Nega Network, in September of that year. The group signed in October with Mystic Entertainment and released their Basic album the following month.
