He is a cold-hearted businessman who often uses dirty business tactics. As he takes over the day-to-day operations of the guild, he grows into a strong leader. But Jae-young (Jang Hyuk), his younger brother, becomes his own man and does not follow his older brother’s business style.

You must watch this drama because The Great Ambition has its dose of drama but it is not overly melodramatic. It has a lot of humorous moments and it is first and foremost an endearing story, full of likable characters and a lot of emotions.

Something Happened in Bali

SBS’ drama Something Happened in Bali was shot in Bali. The drama is directed by Choi Mun Seok and stars Ha Ji Won (Lee Soo Jung), So Ji Sub (Kang In Wook), Jo In Sung (Jung Jae Min), and Park Ye Jin (Choi Young Joo). The drama begins and ends with a scene on the Island of the Gods. Because of its story about a tour guide, then various places in Bali also look beautiful in this drama.

The drama’s story is about a love triangle between Lee Soo Jung, a tour guide in Bali with Kang In-Wook and Jung Jae Min, a wealthy businessman. The conflict begins when fate reunites them back while in Korea. Lee Soo Jung makes use of his introduction with Jung Jae Min to apply for a job at Jung Jae Min’s father-owned company.

It is also his fate that makes him move in next door to Kang in Wook, so they often meet each other. Unlike Korean dramas that mostly have a sweet ending, Something Happened in Bali ends with a sad ending. This drama was on the air from January 3rd to March 7th, 2004, every Saturday and Sunday.

Koh Eun-ho (Ji Jin-hee) is a doctor who goes to Jeju Island to work in a clinic. His father owns a hospital, and he divorced his mother when Koh Eun-ho was a child to marry a barmaid. There, Koh Eun-ho builds a relationship with the timid Seo Jung-eun (Ko Hyun-jung). Jung-eun starts out as a mute person, due to the fact that she was traumatized in the past, therefore she chooses not to speak a word. And Eun-ho helps her get over the past, and motivates Jung-eun to be heard.

When Eun-ho builds up the courage to find his mother, Jung-eun finally speaks out telling him that he must come back to her. Unfortunately, while driving with his mother, they get into a car accident which kills his mother, and Eun-ho is left in a coma.

When Jung-eun hears about the incident she quickly goes to Eun-ho’s side in the hospital (the hospital his father owns). There, Jung-eun is introduced to Eun-ho’s half-brother, Eun-sub (Jo In-seong). Eun-sub’s mother was a woman of lies and manipulation, therefore his relationship with his mother is not good.

His relationship with his father is even worse. Eun-sub’s interest is in music, but he is forced to work as a doctor. He can be quite immature and only thinks of himself. He doesn’t have a good relationship with Eun-ho either and strongly believes that Eun-ho despises him and he tries to compete with Eun-ho in whatever he does.

Spring Day was released on January 8th and was on the air until March 13th, 2005.

It’s Okay, That’s Love

In this drama, Jo In Sung plays Jang Jae Yeol, a mystery writer and a radio DJ. Jang Jae Yeol looks normal, but actually he is not normal like everyone else. As a child, he was often beaten by his stepfather and also his sister, so his fear and trauma caused him to be abnormal psychologically. He co-acted with Gong Hyo Jin as Ji Hae Soo, a beautiful and charismatic psychiatrist.

He is fierce but actually is very gentle. In his life, Ji Hae Soo is not too concerned about relationships in terms of romance and marriage because he is traumatized and can’t have sex. The love story of the two characters begins when they meet as a patient and a psychiatrist.

Besides the amazing acting of Jo In Sung and Gong Hyo Jin, the story-line is definitely one-of-a-kind. The general theme of the drama is mental illness, but the story-line manages to keep the tone of the drama light and not too intense.

Not to mention the rest of the stellar cast, which includes Lee Kwang Soo, Sung Dong Il, EXO’s D.O., and Lee Sung Kyung — this cast has amazing chemistry together, which is not easy to find. There were also many parts throughout where I couldn’t help but get butterflies because of the one-liners and adorable smirks from Jo In Sung. This is definitely a drama that everyone should watch!

This drama amounts to 16 episodes and was released on July 23rd, 2014, airing every Wednesday and Thursday.
