Debuting With Their First Album: Fantasy
Before their debut, JBJ released their first reality show titled Just Be Joyful, that started airing on the Mnet M2 Channel on September 27th, 2017.
On October 18th, 2017, JBJ released their debut extended play Fantasy. They also held a debut showcase that took place at Korea’s University’s Hwa Jung Gymnasium, on the same day. For their official debut stage, which started on October 19th on Mnet’s music program M Countdown, they performed their title track “Fantasy,” along with “Say My Name.”

And the next day, it was announced that JBJ will be holding fan meetings across Asia, starting from Japan (Tokyo and Osaka) on the 23rd to the 26th. On December 21st, JBJ’s album was confirmed to be released in January 2018, and their first concert called JBJ 1st Concert: Really Desirable Concert, on February 3rd and 4th was also announced. These two days concerts were to be held in Olympic’s Park, Olympic Hall. The 7.000 tickets for the concerts were reportedly sold out in just under a minute! Amazing, right guys?
Second Album: True Colors
At midnight, on January 3rd, JBJ announced the release of their new extended play with the title True Colors, along with a tracklist, followed by individual teaser images of the six members that were released over the next six days and on the last day, the group’s teaser image was released. The music video teaser with the title track “My Flower” was released two days later.
The EP spoiler video was released three days later. Finally, on January 17th, JBJ released the official music video for “My Flower.” Here is the video for you guys:
With the release of True Colors in January 2017, at 6 pm KST, JBJ held a comeback showcase Joyful Colors that took place in Yes24 Live Hall at 8 pm KST, the same day. On January 18th, Fave Entertainment announced JBJ’s fan meetings across the Asian countries that had been included on the list and will finish in the Philippines.
Finally, on January 26th, in one of the episodes of Music Bank, JBJ received their first win and trophy for “My Flower.” Check out the emotional moment in the video below:

A Possible Contract Extension for JBJ?
As we all know, JBJ was originally supposed to disband, but the six members expressed an interest in extending their contracts. They even started discussing their possible extension of the contracts. On February 22nd, Fave Entertainment, with all the member agencies, officially started discussing the possibility of a contract extension, up until December 2018.
On March 14th, Fave Entertainment confirmed that JBJ’s seven-month promotion will conclude with the expiration of the management contract on April 30th, as the companies decided not to extended the contracts in the end. However, they did say that the band will still actively promote until their contracts expire.
JBJ’s Last Group Activity
On March 15th, JBJ confirmed that they would be releasing their last single “New Moon” on April 17th, 2018, and they also announced their plans to hold a fan meeting and domestic concert before their official disbandment on April 30th.
JBJ then announced the details about their final concert, that was called JBJ Really Desirable Concert: Epilogue, on March 15th, that was to be held in Seoul SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium, from April 21st to April 22nd, as an extension to their first concert in February.
On April 17th, JBJ finally released their last album, New Moon, including three new tracks, in addition to all the songs from the EP Fantasy and True Colors. Here is the official music video of their title track from the album New Moon, titled “Call Your Name”:
JBJ finished their last concert tour on April 22nd with their last performance, and on April 30th, the group officially disbanded due to the expiration of the members’ contracts with Fave Entertainment.
