Waveya (Hangeul: 웨이브야) is the female dance cover group from South Korea. They gained attention after doing a cover of Psy’s Gangnam Style. This sexy dance group was first built by Ari and MiU, who held auditions for and trained the dance team. They created Waveya in 2006 and began posting dance videos on YouTube in 2011. Over the course of several years, the groups lineup has been changing.
In 2018, the members, including dance choreographer Ari (Jang Eun Young) and her younger sister MiU (Jang You Sun), become the Waveya members. They are obviously talented dancers; not only is the choreography sexy, but also fun. Let’s get to know them on Byeol Korea, stay tuned!

Waveya started gaining popularity after uploading videos on their YouTube channel since 2011. Until now, they have already surpassed over 3.5 million subscribers. They regularly do dance covers of various songs from K-Pop, American, or Brazilian artists along with their own original choreography.
Since becoming more popular through YouTube videos, Waveya started getting concerts and doing commercials. Ex-Members of Waveya
In the beginning, Waveya is consisted of five team members, including Ari, MiU, Doori, Hyang, & Yuna. For several reasons, one by one the others left, leaving only Ari and Miu. Their departures were for various reasons, such as studies, career advancements, and other unknown reasons.
In March 2015, Waveya actually was looking for new member, but no one has been added since then. The siblings keep active doing dance covers like PSY’s Gentlemen, Brown Eyed Girl’s Abracadabra, Girls’ Generation’s What’s Your Name, and Lee Hyori’s Bad Girls. Some cover videos are so popular, especially the ‘Gentlemen’ dance cover, which has had 22 million views on YouTube.
