Ha Sung-woon Appearance on Produce 101, Season 2
In 2017, Ha Sung-woon joined the variety show Produce 101, and he entered the 2nd Season. As all we know, before he became a trainee for Produce 101, Ha Sung-woon was a member of the boy-group Hotshot boy. Hotshot is arguably not very well-known among K-Pop fans, and ended up being disbanded.
Feeling a bit like a failure, Sungwoon decided to enter a survival TV program, Produce 101, along with Noh Taehyun, another of the group’s former members. It was a challenge for him, because he had to go from being an idol to becoming a trainee again, to defeat the other 100 participants by proving his talent and be able to debut in a new group.
Sungwoon faced plenty of obstacles. During his time on the program Sungwoon felt he never got the things he wanted. When he joined the program, Sungwoon was included in the participants in class A, where all the contestants competed to get the position as a center, but he wasn’t able to become the first center in the program.
He wanted to take a vocal position in Blackpink’s song “Playing in Fire”, but the quota for the song was full, so he had to choose another song. The audience chose him as one of the people considered suitable for singing the song “Never”. After that, Sungwoon was also moved from the song he wanted to sing in the final round. That last issue ended up working out well for him, though, since he got to be the center for the new song, and got a lot of attention from the viewers.

Ha Sung-woon’s Debut With Wanna One
Wanna One was formed from the top-ranked winners for the Produce 101, season 2 competitions, which aired on Mnet from April 7 to June 16, 2017. Of the 101 early trainees representing various agencies, 11 finalists were chosen by audience voting and announced on live television. Before appearing on the program, several members already had been active in the entertainment industry, they were Park Ji-hoon, Kwang Min-hyun, Kim Jae-hwan and, of course, Ha Sung-woon.
Park Ji-hoon was a child actor and appeared in drama series such as Kimchi Cheese Smile and The King & I, Hwang Min-hyun made his musical debut as a member of the group NU’EST, Kim Jae-hwan made his first appearance on season 2 of Korea’s Got Talent, but was eliminated during the semi-finals, while Sungwoon was a member of the group Hotshot.
Sungwoon was the 11th member to become part of Wanna One. His career with Wanna One was successful, but the group was only given a one-year contract agreement, which means that in 2019 the group disband.

Ha Sung-woon’s Friendship with BTS’s Jimin
Ha Sung-woon and Jimin are best friends, they’re even part of a group called the Padding Squad, which consists of EXO’s Kai, SHINee’s Taemin, VIXX’s Ravi, and Hongki. Because they’re so close, they are often referred to as twins. They support each other despite the competition that goes with being part of the same industry.
They were both the last members to join their respective groups, and have been on diets because they both feel like they need to lose weight. On the last episode of Produce 101, Jimin openly posted that he sent support to Sungwoon.
At the time of MGA 2018, Wanna One took awards in several categories, Jimin was very proud and congratulated Sungwoon by shaking hands and hugging tightly.
Conversely, when BTS won every award in MGA 2018, Sungwoon immediately congratulated Jimin and hugged him, too. When Wanna One received a trophy at the Melon Music Awards, Ha Sung-woon looked ready to cry because he was so touched. Jimin was watching him, and you could tell by the look on his face that he was nearly in tears, too.

In the MAMA peak night event in Hong Kong, BTS won two Daesang awards, namely Album of the Year and Artist of the Year. In a victory speech while receiving the Artist of the Year trophy, BTS members couldn’t help crying. Wanna One members like Yoon Ji Sung, Kang Daniel, Park Woo Jin, Park Jihoon and Sungwoon were crying, too. One netter commented that “Wanna One is really good persons. Ji Sung, Daniel, Sung Woon tried not to cry but they looked very emotional. All the groups looked shocked when Jin mentioned about disbanding”.
Another piece of recent news is, we are know, that Wanna One’s contract will officially expire on December 31, 2018. The boy-band formed by the second Produce 101 season, and has been promoting for 18 months. Their contract won’t be extended any longer, and they will do their final concert in January, 2019. It was revealed that Wanna One will get paid to reach 141.3 billion!
After Wanna One disband, he released his first single in January 28, 2019 with entitled “Don’t Forget”. Sungwoon will release his single album on this month, that’s February 2019.
