U.Ji’s Second Debut with BESTie
After her year-and-a-half hiatus, U.Ji finally made a comeback in the music industry by debuting as a member of another girl group. On July 11th, 2013, under YNB Entertainment she debuted with her new group called BESTie with the two other members who previously debuted in EXID, Hyeyeon and Haeryoung, and one additional member named Dahye with the release of their first single titled “Pit a Pat.”
But their peak was in 2015 when their title track “Excuse Me” reached the 4th position of the Billboard list as The Most Viewed K-Pop Videos in America, also the song positioned at the 6th position as Most Viewed K-Pop Videos Around the World.
But sadly, YNB Entertainment announced that U.Ji and Dahye decided to leave the group while the other two members are still in BESTie. Also, a rumor that YNB Entertainment was bankrupt was the main reason why BESTie disbanded since there was no official statement about it.
Uji’s Becoming A Solo Artist?
Around February 2015 before making a comeback with BESTie, U.Ji debuted as a solo artist first. Her first song was titled “Love Letter,” and was released on February 17th, 2015. There is also a music video of it, where she was recording the song.

She then surprised the fans by making another solo comeback song titled “Autumn Leaves” on September 18th, 2015. The song was an RnB genre, it was about missing a parted lover and reminiscing the past. “Autumn Leaves” was written and composed by the Canadian record producer 40.
The song was also included and used as a soundtrack for a web drama titled 9 Seconds. Starting BESTie’s Haeryoung and actor Lee Joo Seung in the “Autumn Leaves” music video, they show a glimpse of the emotions felt by the drama and the song.
