Reported by Allkpop, Kim Kwon said, “when I first saw Dasom, my heart was pounded because I’m a SISTAR fan. I also remembered her because she was very well on the previous drama ‘Unnie Is Alive.'”

Kim Dasom began her acting career by starring in a drama aired by KBS, titled Family, in 2012. In the drama, she played the lead role, Woo Da-yoon. Family had a total of 120 episodes and was quite popular when it was released. The drama tells the story of a divorced woman who lives with her mother and two daughters, and a guy who is a widower and lives with his mother-in-law and 3 children. These families have totally different personalities and appearances, but the pair fall in love and marry.
After her success with Family, in 2013 Kim Dasom starred in the drama Melody of Love, aired by KBS1 for a total of 151 episodes. In this drama, Dasom plays the main role, Kong Deul-im. This drama tells about three families who begin to appreciate the family and regret hurting others.
In 2015, Kim Dasom starred in another drama, The Virtual Bride, which was aired by KBS2 for a total of 12 episodes. In this drama, she plays Oh In-young. This series was about a former idol.
