VICTON’s Byungchan and Seongwoo in Produce X 101
On March 15th, 2019, Plan A Entertainment confirmed through VICTON’s official social media accounts that Choi Byung-chan and Han Seung-woo will be participating in Mnet’s upcoming survival program Produce X 101.

Hello, this is Plan A Entertainment.
VICTON’s Han Seung Woo and Choi Byung Chan, who are artists under our agency, have ultimately decided to participate in Produce X 101.
We deliver our words of apology for not being able to deliver [the news] in advance to ALICE (VICTON’s fandom), who must have worried due to many speculative reports, because of the program’s method of proceeding forward.
We ask for your warm wishes and encouragement towards VICTON’s decision, which was made after a lot of consideration. Please also continue to show your interest for the rest of the VICTON members Kang Seungsik, Heo Chan, Lim Sejun, Do Hanse, and Jung Subin. Thank you.
When they both did the interview, Choi Byung-chan even said, “I am jealous of WannaOne. After we debuted, WannaOne debuted a few months after us, but I watched their victory from the backstage of a music show.”
Han Seung-woo expressed his concern after debuted, “When I first heard that I was going to debut on stage, I was the happiest person in the world. I guess I’m going to enter TV and I’m very happy. But after we launched the album, I became increasingly anxious.”
Choi Byung-chan also added their reason for attending this survival show, he said, “I joined this event because I wanted to show my charm. I want to show who I am to many people.”

On their first appearance in Produce X 101, every trainee from their respective companies will perform their dance and sing. Choi Byung-chan and Han Seung-woo performed “Save Me” by BTS with a skillful performance. They showed a stable dance while singing live. They both got an A-gade and got compliments from another trainee and the trainers.
And then, they will do a re-evaluation to determine the final rank which will relate to their position on the stage. They are given 3 days to perform their title track “X1-MA” by themselves and record it. The trainers will see and rate them again.
After the re-evaluation, Choi Byung-chan and Han Seung-woo were still in class A because of their abilities. They both entered the “Royal Class A” which means from the first evaluation until the re-evaluation they can maintain their position. The benefit is, class A will be the center of the group and get the most screen-time.
They also have a benefit of performing again on M! Countdown.
Next is battle evaluation, Choi Byung-chan got “Girls Girls Girls” by GOT7 at this evaluation while Han Seung-woo got “BOSS” by the NCT U subunit. They both showed different charms in this first evaluation. Byung-chan showed a fresh performance while Seung-woo showed a strong performance.
In the position evaluation, they both took the same position which is vocal. Byungchan performed “To My Youth” by Bolbbalgan4, and Seungwoo performed “Me After You” by Paul Kim. They both performed perfectly, they showed their charms in this performance.
And the last was concept evaluation where they were both in a different team again. Byungchan was in the Move team and Seungwoo was in the U Got It team. Byungchan again showed a strong performance while Seung-woo showed a sexy performance.
But surprisingly, before M! Countdown, Byungchan announced that he will be leaving the show because of his health. He was known to have been injured from the beginning of the concept evaluation exercise, and then that video was uploaded on YouTube. They perform two times faster and you can see that Byungchan fell off several times.
Many people thought it was funny because of him falling, but after his agency announced that Byungchan had a Tendonitis Achilles chronic the fans felt guilty and regretted that Byungchan must leave the show.
Byungchan didn’t perform on M! Countdown and didn’t come to the 3rd evaluation. He known didn’t come to the final while Seungwoo made it to debut with X1.
Most recently he hasn’t scheduled any activities as he is focused on healing from his injury. And for the future, whether he gets back with his group or do solo debut we should support him and give him a lot of love!
