Ravi Leaves VIXX’s Agency, Jellyfish Entertainment!
K-Pop boy band VIXX experienced a slight change in their dynamics. Because, the group’s main rapper, Ravi, decided to leave the agency which has been overseeing the boy band.
Ravi’s departure from VIXX’s agency was announced through Jellyfish Entertainment’s official statement on Friday, May 24th. They explained that four members of VIXX: Leo, Hongbin, Ken, and Hyuk, have extended their contract with the agency. Meanwhile, Ravi will come out of Jellyfish and create a one-man label agency (agency for himself) that is tailored to his musical preferences.
However, Ravi will not leave VIXX and will remain active with the boy band that debuted in 2012. “For VIXX’s music activities, he plans to continue his musical partnership with Jellyfish and continue to be with VIXX members, who have spent seven years with him,” Jellyfish wrote in an official announcement. “He will continue to be part of the group’s musical activities in the future,” they added.
Then, Jellyfish said that they planned to discuss the extension of the contract with the group leader, N. They would do it after the owner of Cha Hak-yeon’s real name completed his military duty. Jellyfish says they will take care of Leo, Ken, Hongbin, and Hyuk’s activities. They will also take care of Ravi, in VIXX’s group promotional activities.
In addition, Jellyfish revealed their plan to schedule an opportunity for VIXX to meet fans in Korea and abroad in 2019. They will also widen the field of activity for Leo, Ken, Hongbin, and Hyuk. “We will not be half-hearted in investing and support – not only for the activities of the VIXX group but also for individual members, using a more organized system and (we will) work closer (with members) to the ability and strength of their music,” said Jellyfish. “We will do whatever we can to support them so that they can grow as global stars,” he concluded.
VIXX is Jellyfish Entertainment’s boy band that first started their careers in 2012. They are known for songs such as “Shangri-La,” “Voodoo Doll,” “Error,” and “Dynamite.”
