Pre-debut Members of ATEEZ

Before becoming ATEEZ, they were previously known as a group of training participants under the name KQ Fellaz. As KQ Fellaz, KQ Entertainment released a YouTube series, KQ Fellaz 미국 연수기 (KQ Fellaz American Training), where they traveled to Los Angeles, California to practice. Throughout the show, KQ Entertainment introduced the ninth member to the training group, Lee Junyoung.

Together, they composed and choreographed a song, produced by their leader Hongjoong, and trained at the dance studio, Millennium Dance Complex. KQ Fellaz members were also featured in one of the famous Millennium dance videos. For the end of the YouTube series, KQ Fellaz released the song, “From,” on July 3rd. However, through this release, KQ Entertainment announced the departure of Lee Junyoung from the group.

After the YouTube Series, KQ Entertainment announced the reality show KQ Fellaz, on June 26th, 2018, with the first of three teasers. The second teaser was released on June 3rd, where they introduced the official name of the group – ATEEZ. Therefore, the reality show was finally titled Code Name is ATEEZ. The third teaser, uploaded on July 13th, showed the opening title of the event. The event was scheduled to premiere in the Korean broadcast media Mnet on July 20th.

KQ Fellaz American Training

KQ Fellaz American Training, as mentioned before, is a Youtube series where ATEEZ members travel to Los Angeles to practice. It contains 20 episodes and the duration of each episode is between 3 to 5 minutes. So, here I give you the first episode of the series. Let’s watch it together!

Official Debut of ATEEZ

On October 2nd, 2018, through their official SNS, ATEEZ released a teaser photo that announced their debut date. In addition, the teaser provided the date and location of their debut showcase: October 24th at YES24 Livehall. After this announcement, they uploaded teaser photos sequentially from October 8th to October 23rd. On October 24th, 2018, ATEEZ released their debut EP, Treasure EP.1: All To Zero.

Along with the release of the album, there was a music video for the title track, “Pirate King,” and also the track “Treasure.” This album reached #7 on the Gaon Album Ladder. ATEEZ held their debut showcase on the same day with around 400 participants in the audience. Their first musical performance was on October 25th, on Mnet’s M Countdown. A few weeks later, the group announced for the first time dates of their US tour, performing concerts in Brooklyn, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.

On January 2nd, ATEEZ released an image via their official SNS with Morse code as the title. They then confirmed their comeback EP, Treasure EP.2: Zero to One, on January 3rd, with a teaser follow-up. On January 15th, they released their new EP, Treasure EP.2: Zero to One, next to the music video for the song title, “Say My Name.”

Note: the video “From” was made at the end of KQ Fellaz American Training. There are 9 members on this video, but the member named Jun Young, who is in this video did not join the group’s debut, so the group debuted with only 8 members.
