Chen who has a real name as Kim Jong-dae and was born in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, September 21, 1992 has age difference with Sehun in 2 years.
On September 21, 2018, EXO’s Sehun uploaded a celebration of Chen’s birthday on Instagram who has already reached his 26 years old.

Finally netizens can see all EXO members gathered.
Starting from Xiumin to Sehun itself in the photo and D.O who was busy filming drama also existed and they seemed to be gathering in a restaurant.
But there is something missing in this upload since Suho and Lay don’t appear in the photo. The absence of these two EXO members made netizens joking around but they made it look like Suho and Lay were celebrating Chen’s birthday.
On February 3, 2018, Recently EXO members conducted interviews and photo shoots that were published in EXO-L JAPAN magazine. This magazine is only released limitedly for fans who are members of EXO-L JAPAN’s official fanclub.
In addition to answering questions individually, Suho and Sehun also had the opportunity to conduct interviews together. In this interview session, they were both being asked whether Chen who always smiling from ear to ear had been angry or not.
“He was angry when the members gathered together. It was the first time I saw Chen hyung angry,” Sehun said. “Why is he angry? Is that wrong Sehun?” Suho asked.
“No, no, it’s not my fault,” Sehun argued. “But I told Chen hyung, ‘I like it when you’re angry.’ He wasn’t angry anymore after that. I honestly like it if he can express himself.”
Unlike what Sehun expected, Chen had never been angry since then. “But Chen hyung even regretted being angry. He told the members, ‘I won’t be angry anymore. Sorry’.”
On March 29, 2019, EXO’s Sehun did an interview in Rouge Fashion Boo and he revealed about his passion and planning to be a solois later.
It was almost 7 years that EXO has been debuted and one by one EXO members tried to expand their fields. Like acting in drama, movies, and musicals and even releasing first solo albums. Chen became the next EXO member who will release his first solo album titled “April and the Flower” which will be released on April 1, 2019.
“I usually like listening to music regardless of what genre. I like listening to many genres. I like listening to hip-hop and K-pop ballad songs lately,” Sehun explained, asked his favorite music. But it seems that Sehun didn’t focus too much on solo plans like his colleagues.
“Compared to solo activities, I consider projects more in different fields,” he said. Even so, Sehun has his own views if he plans to release a solo album. “If I release an album, I think I will try to issue a different style or variation,” he concluded.
