Kim Jae-joong and Lee Tae-yong are K-Pop idols of different generations, but have almost the same visual appearance. Jae-joong made his debut in 2003, while Tae-yong was introduced as a member of SM Rookies in 2013 and debuted with NCT U in 2016. The Clones of SM Entertainment
Who doesn’t know the giant South Korean agency, SM Entertainment? K-Pop fans are definitely familiar with this one agency. Founded in 1995, SM Entertainment has debuted top K-Pop idols who helped spread the Korean pop wave around the world. SM Entertainment is known as an agency that has a myriad of beautiful and handsome idols. Uniquely, the agency, founded in the 1990s by Lee Soo-man, also has certain characteristics by which it chooses South Korean youths to be their future stars.
In addition to being the number one agency in South Korea, SM Entertainment is also keen to see potential idols as well as good looks. But it can be seen that SM Entertainment prefers to do street casting on children whose faces are similar to their predecessor artists. It’s no secret that SM Entertainment has some visual preferences in regards to their idols. Over the years, fans have noticed that many idols under SM Entertainment look very similar. JYJ’s Jae-joong
Kim Jae-joong was born on January 26th, 1986, in Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. In 2001, at that time Kim Jae-joong was 15 years old, moved to Seoul from his hometown of Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do of South Korea, to take part in an audition conducted by SM Entertainment. He was selected, but he must first undergo training for two years to pay the training fee. During this time, he went through hard days working odd jobs to pay rent, housing, food, training, and so on.
From 2003 to 2010, he became the main vocalist of TVXQ, SM Entertainment’s boy band. In 2010, Jae-joong and two other members Park Yoo-chun and Kim Jun-su left TVXQ and SM Entertainment due to problems with their contract, then they founded their own group JYJ.
NCT’s Tae-yong
Lee Tae-yong was born on July 1st, 1995, in Seoul, South Korea. Tae-yong is a South Korean singer, rapper, dancer, songwriter, and producer. He is a member of SM Entertainment’s Boy Band NCT and its subgroups NCT U and NCT 127. He is the main rapper, main dancer, visual, center and face of the group in NCT, and he is the leader of NCT 127. Tae-yong was discovered by an SM Entertainment casting agent in front of his school in 2012, and joined SM Entertainment through the SM Casting System the same year. He was introduced as a member of SM Rookies in December 2013.
In October 2014, before debuting, Tae-yong collaborated with Red Velvet on the song “Be Natural.” On April 5th, 2016, Tae-yong was introduced as the third member of the first subunit of the NCT male singer group, NCT U. The group made its stage debut on April 15th, 2016, on Music Bank.
