Ribbon
The song about Ribbon was another B2ST’s song that has a strong and meaningful lyrics as well. The song that was added as one of a track from their studio album titled “Highlight” that was released on July 4, 2016 was included with another 11 songs and Ribbon was their title track.
During this era, one of their member, Hyun-seung, decided to leave the group and this studio album was the last one that was released under CUBE Entertainment. The album from Ribbon was reached the 1st rank at the Gaon Weekly album chart. The meaning of the song was an unhappiness of an end relationship that was clearly seen from every role that was taken from the scenes on Ribbon music videos.
Good Luck
B2ST released their 6th EP on June 16, 2014 with their comeback song, Good Luck. In this album, there was 7 songs and a new music video for Good Luck was also released in the same time. The song itself has a concept of energic and melancholy at the same time since it was represent an ambiguous brokenhearted song as well.
During an interview, B2ST also promised their fans to made a comeback with a different concept and unique choreography for Good Luck that was more difficult than ever. In this song, Gi-kwang also took the important part to wrote the lyrics and another songs that was included in this EP.
Beautiful Night
This song that was released on July 22, 2012 was the lead track from B2ST’s 5th EP titled “Midnight Sun”. During this comeback was really anticipated by all of their fans as the announcement about their comeback was hinted since May 16, 2012 by CUBE Entertainment’s CEO, Hong Seong-sung, revealed that the greatest comeback from B2ST will be held soon.
On July 3, 2012, B2ST was filmed their music video in New York city for a week and it was the group’s 1st music video that was filmed outside South Korea. The teaser picture from each members were also posted started from July 13rd until 18th, 2012, EP’s track lists were posted on July 20, 2012 and 2 days later the EP and music video has officially released.
Shadow
B2ST released their 2nd studio album titled “Hard to Love, How to Love” that was released on July 19, 2013 and Shadow as their title track. The entire songs from this album was produced by Yong Jun-hyung while worked together with Kim Tae-joo. A week before the album was released, CUBE Entertainment revealed that the title track was Shadow along with the solo teaser pictures from the members and the track listing in this album was 8 songs.
In this album, the song was added separately from the digital single that was previously released such as Will You Be Okay? and I’m Sorry which already reached the highest rank from Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard K-Pop Hot 100. Shadow also has 2 versions; Korean and Japanese that was released in different CD and DVD.
Mystery
During their rookie era, this song was also one of a popular song from B2ST that was included as a track from their debut mini-album, “Beast Is The B2ST” that was released on October 14, 2009 and written by Shin sa-dong Tiger & Lee Sang-ho. Although the song was released in 2009, B2ST promoted their 2nd single, Mystery, in live performances on music shows in early 2010.
The mini-abum that was included with 5 songs has sold 40.000 copies and it was such a record from a rookie that was usually sold 20.000 copies in the first month. The music video from Mystery was released on February 14, 2012 and premiered the music video during their ‘Beautiful Show’ world tour concert in Seoul.
Yey
On July 27, 2015, B2ST released their 8th EP which is distributed by Universal Music Group that has 6 songs in this album and YeY as their comeback song. In this era, it was their latest promotion and comeback with Hyun-seung that decided to left the group after the promotion was ended.
The song itself is another dance-pop and RnB song from B2ST and the album also has sold 87.524 copies at the end of December 2015 according to Gaon Chart. Beside represent K-Pop through this song, B2ST also added EDM instrument alongside with the concept of their music video that was seen party in the club and dancing all night long.
